200 escape rooms
Das Joshua-Projekt by Try2Escape Rheine was the 6th room of our Germany escape tour and the 3rd of the day, tackled by the same group of 3 players. This was an average experience overall, with the main highlight being that the room avoids traditional padlocks entirely—everything is handled through tech-driven mechanisms, which was refreshing. Unfortunately, this was the least enjoyable room of the entire tour for me, mainly due to the complete lack of English support. The full experience must be played in German, so if your team doesn’t include a fluent speaker, it’s likely to be frustrating. Thankfully, one of us was fluent and helped bridge the gap, but it still made things feel disjointed. The final puzzle left a sour note—it was confusing, dragged on, and ultimately cut short for us, which made the ending feel anticlimactic. On the plus side, the photo moment at the end was nicely handled and gave a solid finishing touch. It’s worth noting that the overall feel leans more toward a franchise product than a personal passion project—it’s well-produced but lacks that handcrafted charm you sometimes find in smaller, story-driven experiences. Recommended only if you’re already in the area and have someone fluent in German. Otherwise, best to look elsewhere.
