Orient Express

I did this room with 4 first timers and 2 people who had done a few rooms. We were told at the beginning that all of the rooms have a 6% or less escape rate. Having done a ton of escape rooms, that is EXTREMELY low and I think they should make that prominent on the website so that people understand what they are walking into. That being said, my group, although new to escape rooms, was made up of a group of nerds (all high level degrees and scholars), so the puzzle solving was not as hard as just figuring out the “game” of escape rooms. Some of the elements were well worn and could stand to be updated, but it was a great first escape rooms for this group. I would not recommend this for newer players otherwise. Also, I read in other reviews that there was no AC. We had AC, but it was dismal and we were still sweating by the end. Found a great happy hour nearby though. Also, you have to pay for any nearby parking, so keep that in mind when booking.

First time trying this place and the location is just a big old building w not really much parking unless you pay extra. The room seemed old and most puzzles didn't seem to make much sense. It was a hard room and I wouldn't recommend it.

A majority of the items in the room were broken/falling apart, so the doors and panels that actually required force to open went unnoticed. The puzzles did not clearly indicate if they were solved or what they opened, and we had to ask the GM if we solved some of the puzzles because we weren’t sure if we solved it or what it opened. One of the ‘windows’ to show the train was moving still had the input menu! As for our GM, they seemed very disinterested. When we finished the room, they simply congratulated us and immediately started cleaning the room: no feedback, no picture. This location definitely cares more for its newer amenities than its escape rooms.

We were really excited for this room however it had a lot of flaws. The room atmosphere was cool but the puzzles were difficult to understand at a lot of points and the GM had to unlock/trigger things for us. I blame it on the way the room is designed but it could’ve been our incompetence. 🤷‍♀️
