Your parents have finally entrusted you to babysit your younger sister, Olivia. You do a fantastic job, and send Olivia to bed early. Your parents give you a call to tell you that they will be leaving the restaurant soon, and that they will be home in one hour. As you hang up, you hear Olivia scream MONSTER at the top of her lungs. You burst through the door to find Olivia in tears saying that a monster has taken her favorite toy. She won’t stop crying and threatens to tell your parents that you did a terrible job. Where could it be? You can’t find it anywhere, and she never left the room. Your parents are going to kill you if Olivia is still awake when they get home! Find her favorite toy before they return or risk losing your parents trust for good!

Surprised this is the lowest rated at RYCO’s; it’s my favorite here! So cool.

Theme is legally-distinct Monsters Inc (which imo wasn’t clear from marketing materials.) I enjoyed the theme, design, and puzzle ideas. A few places where execution fell flat. This room could’ve been excellent with a higher budget. Many components/puzzles had good ideas but it felt like the budget was too low to fully realize them. 4/5

Located in a mall; the mall does not have good maps. Read the confirmation email for instructions on finding the escape room within the mall.

The staff killed this room for us. The creativity, production and execution of the puzzles themselves are awe-inspiring. Concepts I've never seen in 280+ rooms! As an enthusiast and Disney fan I was so excited to play this. You can see the love for escape rooms in the design of the rooms themselves, but that's where our team's enjoyment stopped. Our game master was unhelpful and frustrating. They continuously talked over us, directing us step by step through each puzzle without allowing us to actually investigate and play on our own. GM would often say "divide and conquer!" and then when someone would break off to investigate another puzzle, just to be told we're not ready yet. The constant input from the GM killed our experience and was so frustrating that we had to stop the game to pause for a moment. GM also got snippy with a player for not hearing them when the staff was explicitly warned the player had hearing loss ahead of time. Bottom line: they clearly do not respect their customers. GM told us at the beginning the business was "designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts." - you're driving enthusiasts away with this behavior. Easily would have been a top 10 room of all time and a new favorite establishment to visit had we not had so many issues. Food and drinks are good though!

GMs are overbearing. Took the joy of discovering clues and solving things away. Had to stop gameplay at one point out of sheer frustration because GM was directing our game like a movie instead of us playing it. We wanted to come back soon to play their other rooms but doubt we will now. We didn't get to solve a single clue on our own.

RYCOsEscape (Owner)

Hi Holly, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. As one of the owners, I want to personally apologize that your experience didn’t live up to the standard we aim to provide — especially after hearing how much you appreciated the room design and puzzle creativity. That means a lot coming from an enthusiast with your experience. It’s incredibly disheartening to hear that the game master negatively impacted your visit, and I want to assure you this isn’t the type of experience we want anyone to walk away with — especially someone who shares our passion for this industry. We take your feedback very seriously, and we're already addressing it with our team to ensure better training, communication, and awareness — especially in cases where specific player needs are shared in advance. We opened a few months ago, and your game master for the evening was actually in their second week of training, but there is no excuse for this kind of miss. We are addressing this immediately, and are grateful for the feedback, to ensure it never happens again. You’re right: our rooms were designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, and we hate knowing that our actions made you feel otherwise. Please know this wasn’t our intent, and we would love the opportunity to provide a better experience for you in the future. Thank you again for the kind words about the puzzles and the lounge. We truly hope to earn back your trust in the future. Warm regards, Cody Oher Co-Owner, RYCO’s Escape Room & Lounge

This really was unlike other escape rooms we’ve done. The puzzles were high tech, interactive, and right on theme. The staff was very friendly and engaged which made a world of difference.

Customer service

Accommodated us with our two very young children (who were somewhat involved in gameplay but also sat and watched their iPad while my husband and I worked on escaping.

Theme is great for kids, though some surprises were too unexpected for my 6 and 2 year old.

We’ve done an escape room with a kid’s bedroom theme before but where it led was novel.

This was one of the more unique rooms I have completed! The puzzles were amazing and very interactive. We were all working on different things and none of us were ever bored! It was a completely immersive experience! I can’t wait to try the other rooms!
