Mystery of the Magician's Study

Another fun room at boxaroo! As always, interesting and different puzzles, great and detailed atmosphere, and an awesome flow.

This is a fun room with good production value and story! Couple of fun reveals and a unique puzzle or two. Fairly streamlined gameplay, which is keeps progress feeling consistent and satisfying. I personally felt like there was a LOT of content to solve for our 4 person group - even though it’s streamlined, there’s a lot of puzzles, which is great! So get in there and get ready to solve!

Such a blast! Fun room. Some really fun puzzles. But mostly the staff are just welcome you with the utmost kindness and warmth. Lucid was our GM and they are lovely. Definitely recommend.

Awesome room! Great for beginners, on the easier side for experienced but still lots of fun! Good mix of tech and locks. Puzzles are logical and there are things that can be done in parallel so you aren’t waiting around for others. Room is a little dark which can make some parts challenging for those who struggle in low light. One part does require someone to crawl but only one needs to do it.

Very thematic with some fun puzzles! One puzzle in particular I'd never seen before. One thing I didn't like was the GM came into the room to help us twice rather than using a microphone or audio cue - one lock was slightly finicky and she came in and just did it for us saying "can I check? You have it right!"... they should have a prerecorded voice to say "that looks right, try again" if the lock isn't perfect. On another puzzle, we were looking at something in the wrong way, but rather than give a nudge, she just came in and showed us. An odd immersion breaker in an otherwise really immersive cohesive room. Favorite Non-spoiler Puzzle (iykyk): Astronomy Runner-up: Floor

This was the easiest (or at least the quickest) of the Boxaroo games for us, and arguably the most "standard". Great set, satisfying and smooth puzzles, what's not to like?

Great room with great flow and a fun story line! Doable with two people but probably a bit easier with a larger group. Really fun puzzles with lots of AHA moments

Nice room in an old bank vault. Tricky puzzles. Definitely aging a bit, but still super fun.

We had a good time in this room but I’m glad we sandwiched it in the middle, as it’s the least impressive of their three. Some of the prop interactions were fun and clever, while others just involved following simple instructions. Still, I can think of at least three moments that really wowed me, so by no means a bad room!
