We were excited when the algorithm let us know Shaky Grounds was coming to Seattle. We love clever concepts and GM (and game designer) Tyler's combination of entertainment and education was just that. Fantastic use of the space, it felt bigger inside the trailer than outside appearances would suggest. Loved the survival preparedness goal rather than a traditional escape too. Lots of parallel puzzles, plenty of tech... not particularly difficult, but a bunch of fun for our family of 4. Looking forward to what new ideas Tyler comes up with next!

Absolutely blown away by this (trailer) escape room & is definitely a MUST DO if you get the opportunity! Tyler is not only an amazing host & creator, but they clearly have the passion and brains for this art. The room, which utilizes the trailer space VERY well, provides a nice balance between the educational component (emergency preparedness for the PNW) without compromising on the story/goal at hand (coffee). Moreover, there is a wide variety of fun and unique puzzles that will catch some puzzle enthusiasts, like us, off guard in a pleasant way (no spoilers, check it out yourself)! Overall, I cannot recommend this room enough for newbies to more experienced escapists :)!

So fun! I was initially hesitant, thinking that an emergency preparedness themed room would be boring, but it was a blast! Such a unique theme, and very well used spaces. Some of the puzzles we were able to “break,” but that didn’t detract from the overall experience. The owner and operator Tyler is lovely and passionate. Highly recommend.

This was super fun! We learned a whole bunch about emergency preparedness, and we had a cool, collaborative time. The owner gave us a tour of his firetruck after and he even gave us a self packaged mystery tin can! Super dope, visit this if it comes to your town or if you have a free night in Portland!

This escape room concept is absolutely brilliant! The owner built it inside a trailer, making it fully mobile and easy to transport to different locations—such a smart idea! Despite being set in a trailer, it doesn’t compromise on the quality of the puzzles, the setup, or the novelty of the experience. The room’s theme revolves around emergency preparedness, and the scene was incredibly realistic—even featuring a crashed car inside the room! The owner mentioned that he used to work in the film industry designing movie sets, and it really shows in the level of detail. Every element felt intentional and immersive. The puzzles were clever and unique, all thoughtfully tied into the storyline. There was a lot to do, and the game was non-linear, which kept things engaging. We played with just two people and unfortunately didn’t make it out in time. One of the drawers was a bit stuck, and we assumed it was locked—so we didn’t try to force it open until the very end when we were completely stuck. The game master eventually pointed it out. Having one or two more teammates probably would’ve helped us avoid that kind of oversight! Overall, I’d give this a solid 10/10. The quality of the game is top-notch, and you can really tell how much thought and care the owner put into designing it. I’d recommend this experience to everyone—even if you’re not usually into escape rooms, it’s still an awesome and memorable adventure!

Thank you for the thoughtful and thorough review - I still feel terrible about that drawer! We've waxed it up, so hopefully it doesn't happen again!

The game itself was fun, and challenging, which is great! However, the man who was running it was unprofessional and rude! After we were done he came in, we felt we did pretty well (didnt finish, but proud of what we did), and said we didn't focus on this or that...he said "not so cocky now!". Not sure where that comment came.feom. we never claimed we were going to finish or be great, and in fact we're claiming inside trailer that it was hard. So for him to make that comment pissed off all of us. Just rude! Spent $200 and they had not been very busy this weekend. A little gratitude for us even showing up to play at this pop up, when we have other local escape rooms where the games are fun and the people are nice and professional.

Hi Kristin, Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. You’re absolutely right—I was poking fun at how aggressively your group came in, but I can see now that it came across as neither professional nor respectful. I sincerely apologize for that. You and your team tackled a tough game and deserved encouragement, not commentary that left a bad impression. That’s on me, and I appreciate you calling it out so I can do better. Thanks again for coming out and for being honest—your feedback truly matters. —Tyler

Where do I begin...I agree when you think "how is this going to be as good in a trailer" but here size really doesn't matter. The puzzles were great and such a unique and fun room. It is up there with one of my favorite rooms in The US! Doable with 2 enthusiasts and 3 if they work really well together. Tyler is awesome and this room has so much love in it and truly creative and thoughtful puzzles. Highly recommend this one as a MUST do!
