The Initiation: Darkest Hour

I wish Morty had a “meh” option. I didnt hate the game but i wouldn’t say i liked it either. Too much reading and translating. Puzzles were very repetitive and werent anything exciting. Certain puzzles were easy to over think while others were a stretch. There are 2 different endings to the game, we chose the easy game and finished with 15 min left. The GM was cool and let us start working on the harder game until our hour was up. We will come back to finish the harder game but only because we have run out of local rooms to play and we will eventually need a fix lol. We played the vacaville version 6ish months ago and truthfully we liked it more. I believe they are updating the Vacaville one as it has since been removed from their website. Anyway, i think the theme is great but the puzzles are nothing to get excited over.

The theme for this room was very fun, the host was kind and gave us the rundown on the situation. “An evil/sinister cult is looking for new souls to join the covenant and worship the dark lord. You only have 1 hour to prove your worth.” The puzzles were morbidly fun and felt as if we were uncovering dark secrets left behind by ones who did not make it. The last puzzle almost got us, we couldn’t quite put our finger on it, but solved it just in the nick of time :)
