For only being one room this had multiple in-depth puzzles. The Game Master was fantastic and stayed in character. There were a few tricks of the puzzles that we would have never gotten without hints, which is slightly frustrating, but also challenging. 2-3 people is enough, we didn’t escape because of our own stubbornness and confusion! We enjoyed the pirate theme and the actual goal of the game which we found unique (you’re not escaping a room, you’re finding the names of lovers).

Willow definitely made this game for us. Very unique hint system.

It was during a heatwave and hot as could be and all the GMs were still so lovely and great hosts. The game was thematically great and a lot of fun but there were a few things that could have flowed better.

Lem was an enthusiastic GM and gave helpful clues that stayed on theme. Puzzles flowed well and made sense.

I'm glad we played this one first before we played their other rooms. This one doesn't compare to the others. It is a one-room game that is just okay. I will say, that there is one puzzle that we absolutely loved, though it was simple in nature, it was a head-scratcher and fun wow moment when we got it. We had trouble with one puzzle/lock and also the final logic puzzle and needed a few extra minutes because of that.

A+++ I 100% recommend Hourglass Escapes! First I have to mention the people there. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had an issue flying into town ( luggage didn't make it), and they did everything possible to make sure we were able to enjoy the room. Speaking of the room, we did Pirate escape, and my wife, daughter and I loved it! The puzzles were just challenging enough to make you think and work at them, but still solvable without any hints. Lots of little details and creative puzzles that made this room stand out. This was my 50th escape room and I would easily put this in my top 10. Next time I'm in town I will absolutely be trying out their other rooms which look to be just as good.

The theme of Ghostly Galleon was spot-on, right down to the sound design. Lots of interesting challenges that required some thought, not just finding a combination for a lock. However, one logic puzzle took so much time to solve that it felt like half of our team spent 20 minutes on it and subsequently missed a bunch of the other fun mechanical puzzles in the room.
