Under new ownership of the previously condemned Madame Locktane's Inn & Suites, you and your fellow team members have been hired in to repair the inn in preparation for its grand re-opening. While carrying out your duties, you and your team encounter a similar outage from the Inn's history. You creep into the darkness to successfully restore the power and escape before your unfortunate demise is secured. Testing your senses, with the exception of sight, will you be able to restore the power to Madame Locktane’s Inn & Suites and escape the darkness? Or will you be consumed by the monstrosities that lie within the walls of this condemned motel?

This room presented a unique and fun challenge in having to solve puzzles mostly in the dark. I enjoyed the novelty of that experience and thought they had some clever puzzles. Would recommend!
Gameplay
I enjoyed the unique element of having to complete most of the room in the dark!
Atmosphere
Not much required when most of it is in the dark, haha. But what was there was great.
Customer service
Very friendly GM.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
Yes in that it was mostly a dark room with puzzles you must solve in the dark!

Medium
They rank this as an Expert room, but I disagree. We played as 2 experienced players and didn’t need any hints and got out with 11 minutes left, so it felt more Medium to me.

2 - 4 players. This might actually be a rare instance where more players increases the difficulty.

Not scary at all unless you freak out when you’re in the dark. 😋

Somewhat
One part requires crawling. Other than that you just want to be able to move around in the dark and squat and stuff like that.
Accessibility
Fully accessible for color blindness. Someone with limited mobility might need a special accommodation made, so I would call and ask how the room can be adjusted for this.

Amazing room!! You need GREAT communication with your teammates! And yes no more than 3 room space is limited!! Yes it’s dark and you can ask for “black light” but if you have great communication you would not need it!

One of the most original games we played. The fact that the majority of the game is played in full darkness adds a very spooky touch, without it ever becoming scary.

I normally hate rooms that are played in the dark but this one was so good! I didnt get frustrated at all. For me, this is my favorite game at this company for the flow. I truly LOVED this room. Will need good communication with whomever you go with which will make the experience flawless.

This room was so different than any other room I’ve ever done before. The escape ventures never disappoint with the characters and with the story flow but this one has taken the cake so far; the puzzles and how to find locks were so fun and i genuinely was so excited when I had found something in the dark. As someone who is horrible at perception of where she’s at in the dark, my boyfriend very much took over with this one but it was still so fun, it’s very challenging when you first enter the dark but once you get used to it, the game becomes more fun.

Outage: No Vacancy at Escape Ventures is a really unique experience because the room is almost completely in darkness. That alone makes it stand out from most escape rooms and adds an extra layer of challenge, even though the puzzles themselves aren’t overly difficult. Navigating and solving everything without being able to see much definitely keeps you on your toes. If you’re not a big fan of horror, this is a great option because it’s more spooky than scary. The atmosphere feels eerie mainly because of the darkness, but there aren’t jump scares or anything truly frightening in the room. Overall, it’s a fun, different kind of escape room that’s perfect if you want something immersive and unique without full-on horror vibes. We enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone looking to try something a little outside the norm.

This room is a dislike for me, but it’s not inherently a bad room like those with puzzle flaws or those that just don’t make any sense. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. In fact, my other teammates actually loved the room. It is played in complete darkness 80% of the time which means you have to feel around for stuff. For me, rather than work on the puzzles, I was much more focused on trying not to run into my teammates. This room isn’t for everyone and certainly wasn’t for me. But…give it a try! Maybe you’ll like it! This is my ranking of all the games I’ve played at this location: 1. Cornstalkers 2. Neighborhood Watcher 3. Arctic Storm 4. Bros for Life 5. Satirical Miracle 6. Outage
