Rating: 3/5 - Decent for a small town room, felt very old-school 2015 era I enjoyed it, especially considering it's the only company in the area. There are no major issues but it's a pretty basic room that doesn't do anything innovative. The set looked good enough and it was more than a single room. It is mostly padlock/lockbox/keypad based, with only a couple electronic triggers (very Gen 1). There were a decent variety of puzzles, enthusiasts should have no problems solving them, it might be on the difficult side for beginners. Our main hold ups were due to search fails. My only nitpick is that some of the puzzles were ambiguous, there is a bit too much information provided before you need it and sometimes it's hard to tell when you have enough information or if you need to keep searching. Though the GM was friendly and helpful when needed. I liked The Cabin a bit more than Corrupt & Convicted but both rooms are decent. The Cabin set felt more immersive since it was decorated from floor to ceiling and incorporated things from Columbus, the room felt newer. However, it's a tad more difficult and I think I enjoyed the puzzles a bit more in Corrupt & Convicted. We played as a team of 3 enthusiasts and it felt right, I would not do more than 4 players. There are only 3 hints allowed but the GM may provide additional nudges.

We had a good time playing this game! We drove from Indianapolis to play this and the Cabin and for the summer discount price of $20 and the drive down, we thought it was worth the trip. Grace was our GM and was really great. Any hints/clues (of which you get 3) were cryptically worded to give you what you need. Some of the puzzles in this room, I haven’t seen in my 30+ games and they were pretty interesting. One of the issues we had with both rooms is that sometimes there’s not a super clear direction what number goes where or what to do/work on next or you happen to get clues too early and it trips you up. However, Grace was great at hinting us towards where we needed to be or if we were using the wrong item.

Gameplay

Pretty standard “prison” room, but there were a few funny moments from non-clues around the room.

We are a group of 3 enthusiasts and we escaped with a dozen or so minutes left. We think we got tripped up in this room from being enthusiasts so we overthought some puzzles. Overall, many of the puzzles were easy enough to understand with a few standout ones that were fun to crack the code of.

Entirely locks.

Ideal number of players

4

We played with 3, which we found to be perfect. There were a couple items we worked on individually and a couple we worked on together. It’s not too linear so you can play with multiple people.

Accessibility

Don’t think there was anything that really stood out to me as being inaccessible, but none of our party struggles with mobility issues, so we can’t be for certain.

There was street parking right outside. We went on July 4th and had no issue finding a spot.
