The DaVinci Heist

A friend of mine and I ventured out here to work through a majority of the rooms in one sweep. This was our first room and it was a great start for the day. The set was a great homage to Da Vinci and the room gave off vibes of a small little specialty museum that you might across in the city. As the game progressed, we were exposed to fun new areas to explore and the final reveal was a fantastic reveal. The puzzles were fun and I had a great time deciphering the codes with my partner in crime. Yes, there are a lot of locks but I am ok with a Gen 1 room. The story had a great conclusion and I was really impressed with the family company.

Overall pretty low quality game. Weak storyline, items were a bit beaten up. Hint system is really poor. You can only access via QR codes so no ability to talk to them when stuck. Get ready for randomly figuring out the order of a code through trial and error. Would not recommend this to newbies or veterans. Didn’t help that they didn’t reset game properly from group right before us.

Pretty standard escape room, but still very fun. While not that inventive. The puzzles were well thought out and fun! Was a bit small so wouldn’t recommend a large number of players.

My boyfriend and I had a great experience with The DaVinci Heist at Break Free. From the moment we stepped in we were greeted kindly, shown to the room quickly, and were able to get started almost instantly (admittedly it was a Wednesday afternoon so that might not always be the norm but it was appreciated.) We finished the room fairly quickly, even ending up on the leader board but I don't think the room was EASY by any means! I think it's a nice straight forward immersive room for anyone who wants to try escape rooms for the first time but a veteran would still have a fun time!

This room is really well crafted. All the puzzles make sense and flow into one another in an interesting way. Although the room is labeled as an intermediate difficulty, it leans towards the easier side of that spectrum. This would be a great room for a family with younger children to do, or as a first introduction to escape rooms.

Our team of two really liked this room - we especially liked how this room presented itself differently than most. Certain interactions within the room would cause the room to change in subtle ways and it made the game play very fun for us. After we completed the room, we both agreed this room is among our favorites. Fun!

Overall this was a great room. Lots to do and a great mix of technology and traditional locks. We had to ask for an unnecessary clue after wasting 10 minutes trying to get something to repeat , only to be told that it had happened and move on. A gentle prod from the GM letting us know sooner would have made it a perfect experience.
