Had a group of 4 experienced players take on this room. Mostly positive experience: PROS: 75 minute room. Who doesn’t like more time which equates to more to do. The room decor is fantastic and top notch. Most the puzzles are challenging but not terrible. Plenty to do to keep our group of 4 active the whole time. CONS: it took us a little bit to get going. Early on, we needed to find some info in a book and it took us a LONG time to gather the needed info and while 2 of us worked the book, we had no idea what the other two were doing (this left us a bit underwhelmed right out of the gate). The sounds/vocals were hard to hear and we wondered if we missed any important info. For us, the ending was a bit dramatic and dare I say silly. I think the owners put a lot of thought and detail into their story-lines…but sometimes less is more.

From the story to the set to the puzzles to the owners/GM, everything was perfection! It’s challenging, immersive and you can tell the time, love and care that went into building the experience. Cant recommend enough!

The atmosphere and effects were spot on. Great use of music, sound, lighting and tech to tell a story. Highly recommend if you are already in the area. There was particular puzzle that was aggravating and tedious, but everything else made sense. The GM was great and kept us on track as we asked. It was just two of us, but I think 3-4 could comfortably do this room and feel involved. This is the only room we did here so I can’t compare rooms. Spooky elements, but not scary at all.

First experience in a non-digital escape room, and I think it is safe to say I have already been spoiled! The Sins of Doctor Faustus is a masterful work, and I am excited to step back into Captivating Worlds for my next escape!
High tech
A near fully automated escape room, the game master only needs to step in for hints.

Such a fun and well designed escape room! Everything was so well planned and we loved all the technology (the worked flawlessly) integration. We even got to meet the designer and his wife, who were very kind and explained their inspo to us.

Love this place so much, came here last year for the first time and just came back for our anniversary. The detail and intricacies of each room are unmatched. The experiences are truly unique from any other escape rooms we’ve done. You can tell the passion and hard work the owners put forth. Our favorite experiences and can’t recommend this place enough!

Rating: 4.5/5 - A must-play in OH, fantastic looking set with high immersion and terrific use of tech/lighting/effects. It's worth driving a couple hours to play here. Pros: ➕Set is beautiful, immersive, and thematic ➕Lighting and special effects were terrific, feels almost theme park quality ➕Puzzles were challenging but not unfair, I enjoyed the variety. Note that they are fairly non-linear so it's better with more than 2 people. ➕Great use of tech with only 3 padlocks ➕Interesting narrative with a fun ramp up in intensity towards the end ➕Friendly owner and GM, GM gave us just enough nudges without being overbearing Room for improvement: ➖Some of the puzzle flow wasn't the best, we spent time trying to solve things that couldn't be solved yet ➖Way too many visible, unused brass padlocks that take away from immersion ➖A bit too much reliance on reading text from the screen for puzzle confirmations and where to look. The info is helpful but with a bit more obvious in-game signposting/lighting, then the info wouldn't be necessary. Particularly the drawers, the indicator lights could be clearer. Instead of the screen, it would be cooler if they could use more of the character in the corner to communicate puzzle updates or hints like I've seen in some other rooms. "Spooky" is appropriate as there are some creepy moments and some minor startles, but it is obvious when the startles are coming. I'd recommend 4-5 players, 2 would be doable but challenging.

I thought this was a fun escape room, but with all of the overwhelmingly positive reviews I thought I would like it more. I just thought it was okay. The scenery was amazing though.

We did this room when they were still getting opened and it didn’t disappoint. We were on a trip for my wife’s birthday and I told them it was her birthday when we checked in. At one point in the game they said this puzzle is for Michelle and when she solved it there was a birthday card in there for her. Highly recommended and can’t wait to get back and play their other rooms
Great game well thought out

Found Captivating Worlds from ratings and reviews on Morty. This room definitely lives up to the hype. The artistry and care put into the room design including lighting and sound , triggered by actions in the room! The puzzles flowed well and the story was really well done. The way the lights and sounds build tension as you go gets a bit intense, made it all the more exciting with our last minute win.
Our game master was the owner and designer/builder, we was great, took the time afterward to tell us more about the story and the rooms origin
