Past To The Future

We have tried a few Codebusters rooms and even though we had mixed experiences we wanted to try again. This room falls into the same conundrum as previous rooms where there are a couple puzzles meant to suck up time rather than actually get solved with logic. Amazing design and tons of fun props… but some puzzles just have no logic or connection to the concepts of the rest of the game. We had fun, but really see a pattern within their games. The owner has been present after a few rooms we have played and he asked us a lot of playability questions since we have experienced over 100 rooms… but he doesn’t want real feedback and shuts down suggestions that could better enhance game play. We have also recommend he get onto Morty to hear what regular players have as feedback - but he mocked the platform as a passing fad. The sets are beautiful, about 80% of the puzzles make sense, and overall worth checking out.

The theme is clever, and the set design is quite good. The puzzles made sense, but several of them didn’t work properly. (For example, a box didn’t pop open when it was supposed to.) Game flow was very linear, so there was not enough for all of us (6 experienced players) to do.

This game always so much fun. I loved the puzzles and how one thing lead to another. The people were super nice and helpful.

This was a fun room to play to introduce a newbie to escape rooms!

The room was overall fine. It had good theming but some of the puzzles solutions didn't trigger properly or required very specific positioning. One element just straight up locked us out because we took too long reading the instructions. And the ending was very anticlimactic.

We had fun. Some puzzles were a little confusing. But overall it was good.
