“Nitr0,” heard the name? If you haven’t, you’re about to learn. In fact, all of America might soon find it plastered across their TV screens. Nitr0 is the world’s greatest hacker, he’s successfully completed over 300 cyber crimes, yet the FBI doesn’t have any leads to his identity. Early this morning a video was received at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Nitr0 informed the Bureau of his plan to release a virus that will drain 100 million United States bank accounts of over $75 billion. You are FBI Agent Alex Vargas, a fresh face in the Cyber Crime Unit. Fueled by optimism and a need for success, you determine that taking down Nitr0 would be the best way to climb the ladder to the top. You’ve received an anonymous lead, apparently, Nitr0 has been tracked to an apartment in Cambridge. It’s a long shot, but it’s the only thing you’ve got. You arrive outside and discover what looks to be an average American college apartment. A powerful clack comes from the door, it’s been sealed shut. The television turns on and Nitr0 himself appears on the screen. He tells you that he was the one who tipped you off about the location, he’s setting you up and in one hour the FBI will trace everything back to you in this apartment. The realization is setting in, the biggest virtual heist in history is about to be pinned on you. You know that Nitr0 always provides a kill code for every crime in case things go awry. You must find that code, kill the program and escape within the hour. So you don’t take the fall for the biggest crime in American history.

Rating: 3/5 - Decent room, but average at best, uninteresting set. Pros: ➕ Puzzles and flow were OK, no significant red herrings or annoying puzzles ➕ Easier room for beginners ➕ Set felt real with lots of real items and decorations ➕ Multiple rooms ➕ Some tech mixed with padlocks and number pads ➕ GM was friendly Meh: ➖ Set was basically just an apartment which is uninteresting ➖ No real memorable moments or reveals ➖ Ending puzzle is anti-climactic ➖ Puzzles weren't bad, but they just weren't that fun overall Cons: ➖ Almost the entire set is spoiled in the promo photos. Though the actual room here has different props/decoration than the photos, any secret room reveals aren't a surprise. ➖ Normally I don't discuss value but $45 for a set decorated with literal Ikea furniture and mostly objects you can buy at Wal-mart is overpriced, we used a 20% off coupon and it was still a bad value. Difficulty felt about right for our group of 2, I would not recommend more than a team of 3 enthusiasts. My ranking of all Escapology rooms I've played (multiple locations). 1. Scooby-Doo - 3.5/5 2. Lost City - 3.5/5 3. Star Trek: Quantum Filament - 3/5 4. Th3 C0D3 - 3/5

I felt like we were doing way worse at this room than our time reflects. I rated this a “like” and I feel like it’s a middle of the road like. There wasn’t anything bad about the room, I feel like after Scooby doo (which is def more geared towards children), this is the second easiest room of the three we played. We ended up using two hints but once we were give them, it made sense how they got to the code. The rooms are decently sized, but our group of two (albeit seasoned players) were able to complete with 12 minutes to spare. Think this would be good for beginners, the puzzles were pretty straight forward and I don’t think there’s a plethora of items to get through.
Set is basically like an apartment, nothing too interesting but wasn’t bad!
Keagan was great, gave us hints when we asked. Didn’t preemptively give us hints we didn’t ask for.

A lot of the puzzles made sense with the story line.
Easy
Fairly easy - we used two hints that I think we probably could have figured out. We were stumped but all the clues were there.
Mechanical
Mostly locks with a few items that trigger-opened. Some tech.

I played with a group of 2 and that felt pretty decent for this room. Most of the puzzles we were able to work on together.
Not scary

Think teens could handle this one, many of the puzzles were easy enough once we thought about it!
No
Not broken, per se, but two items that were really difficult to get to work. One was a trigger that you had to do *just* right and one where you scanned an image and it was really difficult to figure out/work.

Think the only thing I would point out is a color combo item.

Strip mall, never had an issue finding parking directly in front of Escapology on weeknights.
