Outwit the ruthless, cunning Vladimir Stepanov to retrieve the world’s most famous painting. The Mona Lisa is missing! The Louvre in Paris that housed the world-famous art piece by Da Vinci, has offered a massive reward of $50 million. As an underworld art dealer yourself, you hear on the grapevine that the flamboyant and extremely dangerous Russian billionaire and art gallery owner, Vladimir Stepanov, is responsible for the theft. Stepanov has a reputation as a ruthless businessman… but your team decides to form a plan to infiltrate Stepanov’s private gallery where you’re sure he’s stashed away the Mona Lisa. Through your contacts in the underground art world, your group secures an invite to his gallery. You manage to sneak away from the guards and are able to hide out until the gallery closes, but now you must use your teamwork to uncover its location and make it out before Stepanov’s guards discover you.

Who Stole Mona was a fun, light mystery that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The setup is cute — you’re trying to track down the stolen Mona Lisa — and the room has a playful museum-heist vibe throughout. It’s definitely more of a beginner-friendly experience, but there were still a few clever puzzles sprinkled in that made it enjoyable even for more experienced players. The set design was simple but worked well for the theme. It had that clean, polished museum look with little touches that helped sell the concept. The story stayed consistent throughout, and while it wasn’t super immersive, it was easy to follow and matched the tone of the game. Puzzle-wise, everything was straightforward and accessible, though a couple steps needed clarification. We needed a nudge or two when something felt slightly unclear, but nothing ever felt broken or unfair. It’s not a groundbreaking room, but it’s a solid, lighthearted option that we had a good time with.

Gameplay

Smooth and approachable. Puzzles were mostly intuitive, with a few that stood out. Good flow overall.

Atmosphere

Simple but clean. The set looked like a small museum — not highly detailed, but fitting and polished. The Orlando location has a bigger room, but the puzzles are almost identical.

Customer service

Great GM!

Just your average escape room. The laser part was cool!

On par for escapology. Bland, one room, linear. Staff wasn’t overly friendly this visit which was disappointing. Not a bad game just nothing exciting or memorable.

I really liked this room. The puzzles made sense within the story world. The ending was a neat touch. I hope Escapology continues to innovate like they’ve done with this one and the Batman room.

Mona is a great room for people who enjoy linear games! I liked it a lot and thought the puzzles were fun, without being super impossible. Had a cool element to it towards the end and for it being one room, had plenty of puzzles to be solved!

This room is a linear room with some very fun special effects. My girlfriend and I enjoyed this room and we were definitely challenged. The theming was very good and backstory gave a good feeling of suspense. I would say this is a room made for someone just starting out in escape rooms and wanting to get their feet wet on different types of escape rooms. For us it’s a storyline we’ve heard a lot before and it was a little underwhelming for us, but I don’t want to take away the fact that the theming and storyline was great! I would recommend this room for someone trying to bolster their variety of rooms.

This was one of the better Escapology rooms we have played. The puzzles were fun and most of them were unique puzzles I hadn't encountered before in prior games. I would recommend this one.

Accessibility

Mobile-accessible except for a part where you may have to duck and contort your body in certain ways in order to avoid touching things. However, this only has to be done with one member of your party. There aren't too many audio cues. You will need to be able to see fairly well. At least one member of your party must not be color blind.

Easy to find location

Yes

Parking

Medium

It is located at Sunset Walk, so the parking lot is not right next to the building where the company is located. Might be a little harder to find parking on weekend nights and/or when events are happening.

Did not like it one bit. Without hints at times I’m not sure how we were actually supposed to solve the puzzles. Some tech didn’t work, there was a portion with magnets which was super frustrating as they weren’t strong enough to work well. Frustrating was the key word for this room, definitely not on my recommended list.
