Temporarily Closed - A storm is rolling in, and the DeLaporte’s annual carnival ball is supposed to start in an hour. Problem is, all the lights in the house are on the fritz. All wires in the grand estate mysteriously lead to the recently discovered attic bedroom of Uncle Remy DeLaporte, a kooky inventor who once claimed to have invented a perpetual motion machine. Can you restore the power before the ball starts?

I did Smuggler's Den, Inventor's Attic, and Jazz Parlor. They were my 71, 72, and 73rd escape rooms, respectively. I can't say these were the best rooms I have ever done (that honor belongs to a room in Amsterdam), but they were pretty close. They are definitely must-do's if you are an enthusiast and live in the United States. The thing Escape My Room does better than any other room is create an atmosphere where everything fits together as part of a broader story. From how you enter, to what you do in the sitting room while you wait, to orientation, to the walk to the room, to the room itself, and the photos at the end--everything flowed seamlessly. It's as immersive as it gets. The rooms themselves were almost flawless. There was very little I would do differently, and even those would come down to preference and not necessarily make the rooms any better. The rooms are non-linear for the most part, but you always know what you should be doing even if it takes you some time to figure out how to do it. And there are several a-ha moments (always a good thing). I prefer them in reverse order of the way we did them--the rooms kept getting better. Five full stars easy. PS. David was an awesome game master.

The rooms here are immersive and the puzzles are very good. I love the distinctive New Orleans elements. This one was our favorite at this location. A few excellent surprises. Loved it!

It was my favorite of their rooms. It had some reading that helped push the story along. Some fun and unique puzzles and some surprises. I loved this room.

The immersive experience begins in the lobby before your game even starts. Your hosts are all in character (and played well). The room itself is filled with “inventions” which are used in the puzzles. (Feels a little like a science museum) as a result of using puzzles based on these real phenomenon, some of them are very finicky, but we we able to get them to do what was needed after enough fidgeting. It’s a small room, which we played with four players. I suspect it would have been better with just two players.

Our favorite of their games. Very non-linear. There is a lot of reading possible, but not all required. Fun puzzles and very in-theme.

This room was fine. Had a few unique elements. I had this room hyped up a lot more than it was probably worth, but it wasn’t bad. Very easy enough for 2!

I love this venue! The details as soon as you walk in are great!! Inventors attic was a very detailed and teamwork driven room- we had a great experience but you definitely need at least 4 players. Would do other rooms here, staff was amazing.

Not sure who hit dislike on this room but someone needs to check their pulse. This room is everything you look for in an escape room. Aesthetics are amazing! Puzzles are original! Immersive! Game masters in character. Enjoy!

An absolute must do if you’re in New Orleans and definitely worth the drive if you live somewhere in the region. Incredibly immersive from the get go. Beautiful lobby and set design, surprises along the way, and a superb staff. (This review was written after doing Inventor’s Attic).
