After doing over 100 rooms, i feel like they’re now judged on justification of pricing. For $78/person for 2 of us to play, this room was 100% not worth the price. The entire room was so warm, we were sweating the whole time. Our GM wanted us in and out, one of those very awkward, hi welcome to the room, push you in the room, and straight away tells you bye as soon as you finish, but i wanted a picture with the smurf!😩 The room itself wasn’t horrible, but it was a pretty basic room, the same decorations most places have in whimsical themed rooms, the only thing that made it more special was the smurfs theme and the voices. The puzzles were mid tier, nothing too extravagant, and for the price a lot of things didn’t work. As far as game flow, it was pretty horrible, there were a few puzzles once the GM helped us understand, thought to ourselves “we would have never thought of doing that.” And the other puzzles were pretty much just laid out in plain site, we didn’t even realize we’d completed 4 puzzles we hadn’t been told to do yet, until they started telling us to do it and we were like “oh? Ok thats done. I guess.” Also there was no music, which made me sad. Again the review isn’t to say the room was bad, we did have fun, but definitely does not live up to what you pay to play. Theres cheaper rooms with WAY better quality, better puzzles and overall a better experience!
It’s a narrated room, so it’s supposed to be linear. But the way the game play is set up, you end up with a bunch of tools you didn’t need yet and end up doing things all out of order, not on purpose, but because it doesn’t set you up for the narration play correctly, and things are just laying around everywhere. Theres also a few puzzles that make no sense, and have no indication of what you were supposed to do, so be prepared to walk around aimlessly trying to figure it out.
It was cute, but it really wasn’t anything super amazing. I expected more for the price. It seemed pretty basic to your typical whimsical room that a lot of escape rooms have. Things were also falling apart, or pretty cheaply just thrown around. There were pieces of flowers just falling apart, and bundles of fake flowers just tossed around, made the room feel cheap.
It wasnt a horrible experience with the GM, but it did feel super rushed. There was no conversation, not really welcoming, didnt give us a lot of information going into the room, pretty much just pushed us in and said goodluck 😂.. we didnt even know when to walk in the room, just opened the door and we were like uhhhh do we go?! Then on the way out as soon as we escaped just got told to have a goodnight. I dont expect hour long conversations, but at leeast asking if we want a picture with the photo op wouldve been cool. Can you tell i really wanted a picture with the smurf 😂😂
I mean its smurfs, it was nostalgic. Getting to be apart of a tv show you grew up on was fun. It felt interactive since it was mainly narration play. The story was clear since you were being talked to pretty much the whole time.
Medium
I wouldn’t say it was hard because of the puzzles being complicated. It was more so hard because some puzzles just didn’t make sense. Somethings were extremely easy, and the things that werent, were either broken or didn’t make sense.
High tech
There were no physical locks, most of it was technical.

There is 1 part that required a lot of activity to complete, im sure it would be easier with more people, you wouldnt have to jump around as much. And only 2-3 players in your group would have to do it.

We played at 10 pm soo im sure parking was easier then. Its the middle of LA so plan for parking to be difficult lol. Its also a paid parking structure, so be prepared to pay for parking.

It was a nice set up but way over priced. We were rushed out because of huge party before and after us that at one point the game master was just giving us hints even though our time wasn’t even up.

Cute room, I imagine it’s great for kids. Its theme and set design was better than I expected. I think it’s a bit over priced though for what it is.

Whimsical and true to the cartoon, all of your favorite characters make an appearance. The professional-quality set is delightful to explore and our GM, Adam Smurf, was affable and ready to help when asked. Perfect room for kids, families, and 80’s children who always wanted to smurf in Smurf Village!

The biggest problem with Smurfs was the lack of things that stuck with my group afterwards. We did the room and that was it. It was certainly colorful and we were entertained throughout but puzzles were simple and just not interesting. At one point your group is “shrunk down” to the Smurf’s size but that whole aspect was lost on us because it wasn’t made clear and nothing around us fully proved that. The owner says he wants it to be an interactive experience rather than an escape room but I don’t think that would help necessarily… though it is nice looking and clean and new, opening it somewhere between escape room AND interactive journey makes the experience itself hard to follow.

This is a fun room for all ages. Puzzles are straight forward and the storyline is cute! Looking forward to checking out the other rooms at this location as well.
Easy to follow along and fun puzzles!
The reveal into the room was very pretty and set design was on point.

With 7 players, we all had fun working together on puzzles and taking turns! Would definitely be doable with 4-5 as you need all hands on deck for one particular puzzle. Great game for a family to play!

This is a fun game for all ages - and once two puzzles hopefully get fixed to be more intuitive, I would recommend playing this game…but perhaps not at the “regular price” of $60 per person. Fun, immersive set, a plethora of puzzles, and a great story.
Highly decorated areas, although even with 7 players the rooms felt like they had large, empty areas at times.

It’s a family game, nothing too hard to follow story wise

Save for two puzzles that we gave feedback on after the game, everything was fairly easy to solve once you understood what was happening.

7 high triple digit enthusiasts took 50 minutes due to two very intuitive puzzles causing a choke point. Your average team of 4 can play just fine, and a family up to 8 will have fun.
Not scary
It’s the Smurfs, you can’t get less scary than this.

There is a slight height concern in some areas. Players on the shorter side (kids) may need help reaching the play area.

Some height concerns for shorter players in a few areas due to the build of the game, a few color puzzles, one sound puzzle.
