The Abandoned cabin was the 3rd of my EXIT escapades, in terms of story it would have made sense to start with this and lead into "The Return to the Abandoned Cabin" but i didn't know the games were linked. Now having figured out how to correctly use the solution wheel, puzzle cards and hints it meant we were off to a prompt start. The companion app again adding to the atmosphere. Although this box was not a 3D room like I had hoped we did have a good visual representation of the building and layout in the accompanying book and further rooms and details revealed through the cards. Without spoiling anything EXITS use of all of the components provided is great and fills the game with aha moments. There was a large variety of puzzle types in this box some easier than others. Very solid escape game! What I appreciated about this one compared to other Exit games was that it was more nonlinear. You had access to the entire puzzle booklet at any time. The location cards gave it a nice atmospheric setting, though don’t actually expect this to be as scary as the story implies. The puzzles weren’t too hard as all the clues for each one came together, despite the more open-ended nature. I liked how the decoder disk was used here, as it led to puzzle solutions that were not like other standard Exit fare.

The Exit Game delivers on so many levels. 1) Inexpensive for large groups 2) High Quality games 3) High Quality props 4) flexible to your schedule 5) Family friendly 6) well calculated difficulty levels There’s even a hint/scoring system that reduces your score by time and number of hints that really keeps you honest.
