William von Oxenskjold's inheritance was on the verge of falling into the hands of his cousin, Anders from OstengΓ₯rden, when William's father, Baron von Oxenskjold, mysteriously disappeared in 1949. As a detective, your task is to find out what happened in 1949 by uncovering clues in the Baron's office, which has been locked since his disappearance. Unfortunately, the Baron's sister, Edda, who has been managing the estate, has passed away, and while her funeral takes place, there is an opportunity to sneak into the Baron's office and solve the mystery. Ballerup Event Center has created a beautiful and well-executed illusion of a 1949 office in their first escape room. We encountered several impressive details that we hadn't seen before, which is always exciting. There was a good variety of puzzles, requiring different skills to solve the room. The room is not linear, making it easier for multiple people to participate. We tried the room with 4 people, which we found to be very suitable. The website states that it's possible to have up to 8 people, but in our opinion, it would be a bit crowded. However, since it's an event center, the focus is on competition, so they naturally have 2 identical rooms. If you have a group of 8, we recommend splitting into 4 people per room. The cafe and arrival area don't contribute to the atmosphere of the escape room, as the focus is on it being an event center. We thought it was a bit disappointing that the introduction to the room takes place completely outside the setting, with a piece of paper to read. Our game master was friendly and accommodating once we entered the room, but we missed a bit more immersion/atmosphere during the actual introduction.
