26th of April, 1986β¦ In the heart of the night, as the clock struck 1:24 a.m. the Chernobyl Power Plant shook the world with a cataclysmic explosion that echoed through the ages. The air remained heavy with fear and uncertainty, the seconds ticking away like a doomsday countdown. Amidst this chaos, you, fearless nuclear scientists, stand firm within the treacherous maze of the plant. Your expertise becomes the ray of hope in the face of utter devastation. The mission laid before you is as daring as it is dangerous. Deep within these eerie corridors lies an abandoned bunker, forgotten and neglected. The Soviets could never have fathomed the cruel twist of fate that would demand its revival. Your mission is crystal clear: decontaminate the bunker, eliminating its harmful contaminants, and transform its decaying remnants into a sanctuary of life. But time mocks your desperate efforts. Each breath you take depletes the precious oxygen, a reminder of the imminent danger closing in. Destiny's grasp tightens, ready to unleash a brutal dose of radiation, and consume you without mercy. How will you find the resilience to triumph over this harrowing battle against time and deliver salvation to those who crave it?

Definitely a room that I would only recommend for 2 people to tackle. Got stuck with the first puzzle but pretty much winged it after that. Overall the room was fine, not my favorite but I just wanted to do this room to unwind a bit

There were a couple of times during gameplay where puzzles were quite individual and we would be bottlenecked waiting for one or two players to finish up a task so we could all move forward. That being said, the atmosphere of the game was amazing. The special effects were top notch. We were really awed by the set decoration. It was also really, really hot in there.

Getting stuck behind one or two players doing a task that could only be completed by one person was a little frustrating.

Need to be able to step through a doorway with a lip, and go up and down stairs.

We played this room soon after it opened, so hopefully it has been improved and refined since. We were excited to try it based off of Escobar 1 and the Prison Break room but we did not enjoy Chernobyl at all. The environment was dirty, drab and depressing. The puzzles were dull, unintuitive, not very clever and lacked engagement and flow. Itβs an ugly Cold War bunker providing very minimal decor/props to interact with and lousy game play. I personally hated climbing up and down the metal grate stairs and flooring. If you are playing with a group, be warned if you are planning to wear a skirt or dress.

We did need a hint to get rolling, but some of the puzzles were fun and creative. The set design was really realistic. Our game master was great.

We love how immersive this game was. It is considered a simple game, but you can catch yourself making the simplest mistakes. The use of space in the building is used to its fullest.
It's very logical so make sure you look at everything you are doing.
The set design was incredible. You have to make sure to decontaminate.
Lila was an amazing GM. We were well taken care of. We can't wait to play more.

I thought it was really challenging because of the logic leaps and minimal clueing, but in a fun way. Our group liked this one better than Escobar. The theming was super immersive.

Itβs hard to see how other people say this room is easy! The lateral thinking and out of the box solutions makes this an expert room for me

This is an incredibly well designed room from a detail stand point. However I do feel like a lot of puzzles could be workshopped to be more intuitive, my team of 4 has played over 1000 escape rooms combined and we were banging our heads against the wall on some of the puzzles. Some sign posting I think has been overlooked in favour of immersive theming. Overall I recommend trying the room it is incredibly detailed and immersive, but you may be in for a challenge.

Escape Revolution excels at building expansive, immersive sets and Chernobyl is no exception. Itβs a fun space to explore. The puzzle flow is linear, and was oftentimes unintuitive for us.
