This was our 4th room at Lara's and definitely the one that had the most puzzles out of the lot. Our group of 3 got through this room in 45 minutes with a couple of nudges whenever we became too focused on a puzzle we didn't have all the pieces for. The GM was great at redirecting us without giving us the answers.
Unlike the other rooms at Lara's, this room focuses heavily on puzzle solving and is best enjoyed if you have any knowledge on DaVinci and his creations or history. It is also important to note that this experience does have a split start so don't bring someone who is entirely new to escape rooms without providing them at leave another person they can be paired with.
Overall, I would recommend this for those who simply love puzzles and DaVinci's history as it does present you with numerous unique and clever puzzles. I do not recommend this if you were expecting someone like Cannibal or BeWitched. Compared to those rooms, this one is far less story driven or emotionally enticing as the point is to test your puzzle solving mettle. Truly does a great job of doing so too!
Fun room with tons of puzzles that keep everyone busy. Some of the more complicated puzzles can cause a bit of a pause in the flow but the GM did a good job of nudging you along in these scenarios.
Definitely one of the simpler rooms in terms of designs and special effects but the puzzles encourage interaction and purposeful shifts in perspective on order to solve them.
Our GMs, Lexie and Josie, were amazing and made sure we thoroughly enjoyed our night and experience with as few hiccups as possible. Couldn't have asked for better GMs.
Particularly interesting or different
No
Unique decor and puzzles but not particularly interesting overall.
The story follows DaVinci and his history and stories. If you have no love or knowledge of him proir to this room, you likely won't enjoy it as much as someone who has read about him and his inventions
More on the medium difficulty for moderate to advanced teams but geneal. It starts as fairly easy puzzles and quickly presents you more and more until you become stumped or successfully escape. Several of the puzzles utilize sensors and one puzzle in particular can be very unforgiving with the exact location that you have to place the pieces in.
You will be utilizing everything from magnets and lights to mirrors and sound. Definitely a very advanced room.
This room is split start and is more enjoyable when each team consists of 2 players. Overall, this room is best experienced in smaller advanced groups as there are several puzzles that can be worked on at the same time. Too many players can overcrowd this experience easily so keep it small for the best opportunities for everyone involved to enjoy themselves.
Most of the puzzles in this room are complicated, making me recommend it for those who can handle thinking through higher level puzzles and games. I wouldn't recommend this for those with a young child as there are plenty of objects to touch that you shouldn't.
Physically active
Somewhat
You do have to move around a lot and carry a few objects around the room.
Accessibility
Fairly accessible for those with mobility issues but not as friendly for those with color, vision, or hearing issues as those aspects do play important roles in this game.
GPS goes right to it with no issues. Keep in mind it is on the 3rd floor.
Plenty of free and open parking directly across from the building that houses the escape rooms.
