This game is very challenging. Some of it felt hard for the sake of being hard, but the atmosphere, immersion, and design was absolutely incredible. This should be a 75 minute room because Iβd love to be able to to spend more time in this room!

Tomb of Anubis was the 3rd game we did in our marathon day at 13th Gate. Whoa. This company is known for their amazing set design and while Collector was big and Spellbound was beautiful, THIS was the payoff. It starts off innocently but then once we entered the main chamber, there was a collective WOW from all of us. You'll see. (Also, be warned. There's real sand. Lots of it. We all dumped it out of our shoes on the way home.) I've done many an Egyptian themed room. Many were beautiful and some even brought in the real sand. Still, none were this epic. Both in size and ambition. One of my buddies is a die-hard Indiana Jones fan and he was living his best life in this game solving puzzles and avoiding "traps", all while quoting lines from the movies! The puzzling was solid with a couple of them rather difficult, so good thing our gamesmaster was following along closely. Bring the crew. All of 13G games require four people and for good reason. Tomb of Anubis had one big issue that ALL of 13th Gate's games have. These are 60 minute rooms that really need to be 75 minute rooms. There's a LOT of puzzling to be done. We were a group of 4 and we ran over and they let us keep going. Come to 13th Gate for pretty much any & all of the games here. Tomb of Anubis is a must experience. This company is worth the 90 minute drive from New Orleans. If you are coming out, plan to spend the whole day there & do all of their games.

There's a clue with color. There's no way someone with mobility impairments would be able to traverse this game.

Coming from LA, a room like this feels like it should be 75 minutes. There was so much to do, with a group of 5, and one puzzle significantly bottlenecking our progress. We were only about 75% done with the room when the 60 minute mark hit. But the room was so impressive that I still have to give it a thumbs up, and our game master was so gracious. She really tried to walk us through everything afterwards and still got us to leave with a smile. I don't think I'll be back to see this place, but it still does leave an impression.

First room at this location. Went in not realizing the rest of the group wasn't familiar with escape rooms. I suggest going with a group that knows what they're doing. Great atmosphere and plenty of puzzles to keep a big group occupied.
The puzzles matched the theme of the room, which is always nice.

You want a group big enough to split into 2 while having someone be able to read through the journals

Might be a bit hard, there is sand in the first room and a color themed puzzle

Not necessarily hard to find but is kinda tucked away

I think this game is so highly rated purely on set design and props. It should not be a 60 minute game. If it was 75 it would have been perfect. But a 5% escape rate with constant help from the game master means the room is not designed well enough. Thereβs too much to do and way too much reading.

This room is amazing! The set and production is top tier. Genuinely shocking moments. While it is one of the rooms where you follow a journal most of the time, I thought the puzzles were still very interesting and fun. Our GM was so amazing! He helped us right as we needed it.

This location goes all out. They had so many special effects. I didnβt like not having a timer visible within the room. It was harder for us to manage our time. I wish I lived closer because I would be back to complete the rest of the rooms. Their rooms go very in depth, our whole group was extremely impressed. Iβm only disappointed because we ran out of time so close to the end. This is the only escape room my fiancΓ©e and I havenβt escaped from.
Very impressive
Our gm let us play around with one puzzle for almost 15 minutes with it already being correct, it just didnβt trigger it. So it wasted 10-15 minutes of our time and I think with her noticing sooner, we would have escaped in time.

If there was a rating between a like and a heart, I would definitely put Tomb of Anubis there in the middle. This room is considered their hardest room for a reason. The sheer number of puzzles from start to finish requires tight communication and collaboration. We also learned that the rating is based on the difficulty level of the other rooms that they offer and not a standard difficulty level. Take that information and do what you will. As for set design, this room is just as impressive as their award-winning Cutthroat Cavern! I felt like I was in an Egyptian tomb and the puzzles helped with the immersion. There is this one puzzle that just ate up time and was not as enjoyable to complete. We heard that this particular puzzle is a common complaint from other groups but I guess they just keep it in there to make the room more challenging than it is. I honestly donβt think thatβs necessary given that there were so many other fun puzzles in the room. Jamie was our game master and she was the most helpful person in our 8 room experience. She gave us nudges in the right direction and walked us through the end when we did not finish. It still felt satisfying overall and I left with the knowledge that my group made substantial progress.
