Permanently Closed - You’ve been selected to take part in an exclusive screening of the newest original slasher film. As you and your friends wait outside the theater for your turn to enter, something seems a little “off” about the place, with its dilapidated sign and sketchy characters milling about. Once you get inside, no one seems to know anything about a special horror movie screening, so you wander into a theater (#13) hoping for the best. It’s already packed inside, and no one seems to be willing to accommodate your group. Suddenly sure you’ve made a terrible decision to participate in this “screening,” reality and fiction begin to blur as audience members slowly rise, weapons in hand, and start to move in your direction. Backed against the screen with nowhere to go and a mob of psychopaths closing in, it becomes clear that the star of this new original slasher film is YOU.

This review is for the entire haunt and I will copy/paste it into all 3 attractions. This is my favorite haunt in Indy. The full-contact nature adds and extra layer of interactivity and scare factor. If you love bantering with actors, this place is great. Instead of walking non-stop through the entire haunt, you go from room to room and may get stopped/blocked/pushed/pulled by the actors. This makes each room it's own mini-scene where the actors spend more time taunting and interacting with your group. There are very few actors who only just pop out and then hide, never to be seen again. The actors also do a great job pushing through or slowing down groups to keep them separated. Overall the sets are very immersive with some fantastic effects and a good amount of animatronics (though nothing huge), but they go for a more realistic creepy vibe than for over the top spectacle and crazy gore. The ending was a "wow" moment for me, the first time I've seen something done in a haunt (where it wasn't an extra paid add-on) and probably only doable because this is a full-contact haunt. The touching can be a bit rough at times but nothing abusive or inappropriate. I also like that there is a great photo opportunity part way through, they do make you pay for it at the end but I like having that option. It took us about 40 min to go through everything, but maybe 5-10 min was spent waiting in the 2 mini-queues between the attractions. The Fast Pass add-on was worth it even right at opening time on a Sat, we basically went straight to the front of the line while the regular line had 100+ people. I prefer Edgewood over Thirteenth Hour because of the extra immersion and interactivity, but Thirteenth Hour has better storytelling.
