Kuriosum - Artefakt der Finsternis

Ein sehr schön gemachter und liebevoll gestalteter Raum mit vielen Anspielungen die es zu entdecken gibt. Man fühlt sich von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute komplett abgeholt. Es war ein sehr schönes Erlebnis.

Ein Escape Room der Extraklasse! Detailverliebt, atmosphärisch und mit genau der richtigen Portion Grusel & Überraschung. Rätsel sind logisch und machen im Team richtig Laune. Unser Spielleiter war super. Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die keine Angst vor dem Dunkeln (oder cleveren Rätseln) haben.

Mega geiler Escape Room. Hat super viel Spaß gemacht. Atmosphäre war genial und die Story war super. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Der Raum ist ein Must-Have. Eine toll inszenierte Story und ein perfektes Ambiente als Gesamtpaket. Von Anfang bis Ende schlüssig durchdacht, man wird unbewusst immer weiter in die Story hineingezogen. Die Rätsel sind gut machbar und passen genau in den Ablauf hinein. Wir für unseren Teil haben schnell einen gewissen Flow gefunden und sind fliessend vorangekommen. Sehr kurzweilig und man hätte eigentlich immer weiterspielen können. 😉

Incredible! This is so far from your typical escape room. This is a high tech storytelling experience that will keep you in an intruiging story from the beginning until the very end. Even before you arrive at the location, you get sucked into the atmosphere (keep an eye on your spam folder in your mailbox though). As soon as you ring the bell at the outside door, the game begins. Without giving too much away, the transition from the outside world into the world of Kuriosum is absolutely seamless. It is nice to know beforehand that you are guaranteed to experience the whole story. There is no race against time going on. You will be entertained and challenged to go along with the intriguing mystery for almost 2 hours. So don't rush and take in every little detail. And believe me, there are plenty of details in this room. As soon as you enter the main part of this room, and old and abandoned shop of curiosities from all over the world, it feels like you are in a high end movie production or even a spooky video game. The decorations here are just amazing. This in combination with the brilliant lighting and ditto soundscaping, and smells even(!) will have you believe that you really are on this hidden plain of existence. The puzzles are cleverly done but never hard. If you would however need a clue, there is a very inventive communication system that makes the storytelling and world building even stronger. To experience this escape room, make sure that you follow all the instructions given during but also before the game. An important one is not wearing your best clothes. You will get quite a bit dusty; you are in an old shop, remember. Getting in and out also involves some physical flexibility, so don't enter with a tight pair of jeans. The ending is just phenomenal and even if you think that you are done, the story doesn't really end there and then. But giving any more away, would ruin the experience. What I can say however is that the host that you get to meet after the finale is just wonderful and very kind. The team behind this room built this thing all by themselves and they really show their passion for theater and deep storytelling. This is a must visit if you happen to be in Düsseldorf or one of the other cities that surround Witten. Kuriosum is literally the only thing there is to do in this smallest of cities, but it is well worth the drive and your time.

We had a lot of fun playing this escape room. The mysterious atmosphere and the thematic elements were very well executed—every little detail felt fitting. The puzzles matched the story perfectly and kept us on our toes from start to finish. It’s clear the creators put a lot of work into building this room!

Breathtakenly beautiful. Most immersive experience, great worldbuilding and acting. Some things never seen in an Escaperoom to date. By all means, one of the best rooms in Germany yet.

Kurioses in Witten! Die ersten 4 waren Ende März auf der Durchreise in Witten gestrandet.Dort sollte ein Antiquitäten Laden etwas besonderes haben dass unser Interesse geweckt hatte.Wir trafen bei angehender Dämmerung auf einen Typen Namens Alex.Er erklärte das der Laden etwas Kurios sei.Für uns kein Problem als erfahrene Händler die schon einge Läden dieser Art besucht hatten.Nach kurzer Einweisung wie wir in den Laden kommen sollten machten wir uns direkt ans Werk ,nachdem Alex Spurlos verschwunden war.Kurze Zeit später standen wir in dem Krassesten Laden den wir bis dato gesehen hatten.Auf der suche nach der Antiquität mussten wir so manches Abenteuer auf uns nehmen.Als wir nach gefühlten 90 min. Überglücklich auf Alex trafen wussten wir das wir es geschafft haben. Mit dem Artefakt der Finsternis haben die Betreiber ein Erlebnis geschaffen welches sich sehr schlecht in Worte fassen lässt. Die Art des storytelling sucht seinesgleichen. Hinfahren erleben ist das einzige was wir empfehlen können. Die ersten 4 werden auf jedenfall nochmal vorbeischauen.

A truly fantastic room, a real hidden gem. I think this room is way too underrated on TERPECA. The best set design, attention to detail and dressed games I have seen in my life. A great multitude of puzzles, both group and individual, with an even mix of puzzle modalities. Fantastic use of sound and light drew us together, took us apart and told a cohesive story. A completely in universe hint system that worked perfectly. A great actor driven intro got us in the mood, and it was a great start to our Germany/Belgium tour!! Seriously, 10/10. I expect a top 50 TERPECA finish this year.
