This game has a lot of potential, but we almost walked out due to the several technical issues we experienced in the beginning of the game paired with the lack of an obvious puzzle flow
Lacked direction. We were often wondering “what next?” and there was no obvious feedback on whether we had completed a puzzle correctly or not
**SPOILERS**
Only the third game out of over 200 that I’ve experienced some sort of motion effect, so that was fun! Best job I’ve ever seen hiding uv ink as well. Great use of space, but I wish it were more obvious when compartments opened (a spring and or sound effect would help tremendously). There were a couple great jump scares! The floor movements and light effects were impressive, but it was hard to tell if they were triggered by solving a puzzle or if they were just for fun at some moments.
The staff was nice but it didn’t feel like they were paying attention to our gameplay. Our questions would go unanswered, the hints we received was almost always information we already knew, and it took too long for them to notice or respond to technical issues
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
The puzzles weren’t hard, they just had a lot of logic leaps
Lots of technical issues in the beginning of the game, including a safety issue **SPOILERS BELOW**
The items needed to trigger the elevator door open would not stay in place on their own, so four hands were needed to get the door to unlock. Once the door was unlocked, it would get stuck with around only a 12 inch opening. A game master had to come open the door for us as it was extremely difficult to try to push all the way open. Once we were in the elevator, the game master had to shut the door back for us. Not being able to open and close the door on our own obviously poses a huge safety issue. After entering the elevator, we pressed the button for Floor 23 and nothing happened, so we assumed the buttons didn’t work (at least not yet). After wasting several minutes and caving for a clue, the game master told us we needed to press the button for Floor 23. We pressed and held the button several times and were told it may not be working due to the elevator door not being shut properly. Again, the game master was the one that shut the door for us, so we assumed it would have been done correctly. We double triple and quadruple checked the door and tried the button once more. It took a dozen or so attempts for the button to trigger as it should, and it was never obvious what the issue was. It took around 20 minutes just to pass the beginning stage of the room due to the technical issues.
