The Whispering Halls

This is another great space from the Enchambered team. Great integration of tech and set building. The flow was a bit tricky - clues were spread out. I wonder if the flow could have been improved a little bit.

Very hard, but MASSIVE and an incredible set that has so far not been topped by any other escape room I’ve been to. Went with some friends and their family and wow wow wow. So good.

Personally love enchambered! All of their rooms are great designed and challenging. I loved whispering halls, the story was great and everything seemed to flow well. There was a big technical difficulty that wasted about 10 minutes of our time by not triggering something to open after 5+ attempts. That almost prevented us from escaping. But overall, I enjoyed this one and the puzzles were challenging and interesting!!

Wow this game surprised me. For such an old game all of it comes together with (most) puzzles not at all feeling dated and being pretty unique. But where this game stands out is the set, one area in particular standing out as one of the best looking singular areas of an escape I’ve ever seen. Looking back at this review it looks like it’s closing, so r.I.p to this game after almost 10 years of operation! (And sorry for hyping up an area of the set you’ll never get to see)

Set design at Enchambered is outstanding, and Whispering Halls is one of their best. Most of the interactions are tech, leading to an appropriate feeling of spookiness. Stepping into the second room was jawdropping - I wanted to just pause and take in everything -- and simply seeing one particular door had me thinking "this is clearly cursed, and I'm not sure I want to go in there". There's a lot going on in this room - our group of 5 enthusiasts was constantly working on stuff. Space felt more of a constraint than content - the first room was a little cramped at 5, and there were later sequences that were smaller. This might pose a problem for less experienced groups. There was usually more than one thing to work on, and keeping track of stuff was a little difficult (both due to our group size and because we spread out) - there were multiple times when one person would pick up something that had already been dealt with. That's partly on us - we should have organized better - but IMHO also partly due to the design of the room. Puzzlewise, there were some slightly bumpy spots: I think one spot was underclued where we ended up needing a hint, there was a search fail because of ambiguity about what we were looking for, and the graphic design of one prop made us think it was supposed to be used in the wrong place.

Again we told our GM that we would like to see the whole game and to nudge us along. But once again that didn’t happen. We only made it into the last room because I was still solving puzzles while Tracy was talking to the GM in the front room. It’s a very fun game with a great set, I just wished we could have finished it. This makes my loss/win ratio now at 4 losses and 503 wins. With 2 of my losses coming from this company. 😢

We had a great time. Enchambered is one of the top notch escape rooms in the area.

One of the very rooms I ever did…I’ve now done over 200 and it’s still one of my top 3! It started the bar pretty high (I had done one other game before this it was terrible but it showed me the difference)…it’s a little spooky but not too bad! I don’t like scary rooms and I loved this one!

This room was fantastic, as are The Skull Witch and Containment Breach. Enchambered just makes super fun, very well designed, atmospheric rooms with wonderfully inventive and complex puzzles! I can’t wait to do their fourth room!
