For a while everything went well. The couple married and had a son named Toshio. Their relationship took a violent turn when Taeko discovered Kayako’s diary. In the diary she described her fantasies with other men. Taeko killed her with a kitchen knife and broke her throat, leaving her to cool off in the attic of their house. He then drowned their son in the bathtub. Kayako tried to call for help but only one scary sound came out. Her cry, crying and footsteps of her son have since haunted anyone who came in contact with the house. Kayako’s spirit thirsting for revenge killed her husband. This led to the beginning of the curse that kills anyone who comes in contact with her home. When one dies in the moment of a powerful rage… a curse is born. This was a creative retelling of the story from the film in a very cool and elaborate, huge set. It begins with a cold open that sets the stage from the moment you walk onto the property. The actors made this experience. They were a little more physical than in most rooms, but not rough or causing anyone harm or pain. Ax few puzzles could use a bit clearer cluing, but it wasn't about the puzzles as much as the show, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I really enjoyed this experience as a haunt. As an escape room, there was one particularly frustrated puzzle and the room could be greatly improved if it were removed or revamped. But overall it was such a fun experience that I can overlook that. It was also properly creepy, abs one of the more “full contact” rooms we experienced in Greece. There were some really beautifully acted scenes and fantastic work from the scare actors. And there was one particular solo experience / jump scare that was unforgettable! If you enjoy horror, booking this room is a no brainer.
