Unlock! Legendary Adventures: Sherlock Holmes The Burnt Angels Case

I enjoy the Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective game series, so I was excited to play this Unlock! escape game. There’s some cool gimmicks in this one, like a map a la Consulting Detective that you travel around and a magnifying glass that lets you find hidden messages. Unfortunately, the latter is a little clunky to use. The map also punishes you for exploring outside the correct areas, so it felt discouraging to get all these penalties for just trying things. There are 3 cases that are sorta combined but still separate, so it gets really confusing going back and forth. I did love the aha moments with the mystery itself, and some Sherlock elements were really fun to see with the app. This is part of a collection of 3 games, the other 2 being an action car chase and a Robin Hood story. The overall set isn’t the strongest, but it’s still a solid choice for fans of Unlock! games.
