Prohibition

There was so much to be desired by this. Some of the puzzles were too complicated and was unsure where to begin. The game master took too long to give clues and ignored a lot of asking signs and the clues were redundant with completed puzzles. A lot of the puzzle mechanics were just very hard to maneuver around as well.

The gameplay was confusing at best. Minimal clues and some of the magnetic locks either did not open or open so quietly that we did not know if we got the puzzle correct. When we asked for clues, it took far too long for the GM to address it and would sometimes post for incorrect clues. When we were brought into the room at first, the employee went around checking every lock. They showed us basically where everything was. All this to say, extremely disappointed.

This company really needs to work on “upping their game” from a polish standpoint (mechanics and set design) to the puzzles. The freaking beeping noise or whatever it was was SO annoying. It’s some kind of trigger that keeps going until certain puzzles were solved. I’ve never experienced anything as weird and irritating as that in an escape room before

Completed the room with one other person. Wouldn’t recommend a large group as the rooms were small/narrow. The second portion of the game utilized a very annoying beeping noise which did not end until game play finished (very unfriendly for those with sensory disorders as it was loud and very high-pitched and didn’t add to the atmosphere or theme). Asked for one hint and the hint given was something we had clearly already figured out. They gave a “nudge” we did not ask for while we were correctly completing a puzzle which in turn confused us for several minutes. When we completed the game it felt very underwhelming but relieving that the beeping noise ended. The gamemasters here are not very attentive and frequently show they are unaware of the game play.

The room was okay. The puzzles and atmosphere weren’t overly interesting. A portion of the room contains a high pitched beeping sound that remains on until puzzles are solved which my group found very irritating, distracting, and nauseating. Most rooms at Lakeland Escape Room don’t hit the mark compared to rooms in Tampa/Orlando.

Theme was well done and end puzzle was a pleasant surprise. But would not recommend for it is a short room with few puzzles. Lots of combination locks.
