Obscurus – Die Rettung der Magischen Welt [ Obscurus – Saving the Magical World ]

The newest room at The Code Agency is also visually very strong and has great transitions. A beautiful HP room with a lot of humor and magic.

This room was the most disappointing room we played at Code Agency. It was incredibly short, way too easy (not many riddles and you didn't really have to think for yourself, but were told what to do) and generally felt kind of empty. The audiobook characteristics were also kinda useless - why give us letters to read if the voice reads them for us? Especially when we already finished reading half the letter before the voice (insanely slowly) starts reading it aloud? The set design was fine, I saw better ones tho and we never stayed in a room for long because they didn't put that many riddles into the rooms. In the end, this room was really disappointing and immensely boring.

The room itself was well-designed, with interesting visuals and a nice interaction through the wall with an actor, despite no direct contact. However, we were constantly guided by the Game Master, leaving not much opportunity to explore puzzles independently. This heavy guidance made it feel more like being led through a story rather than solving it ourselves. Additionally, the room was really uncomfortably warm despite cool outdoor temperatures, and we couldn't feel the supposed air conditioning. Some puzzles had a clear storyline, while others lacked coherence. Unfortunately, one key element malfunctioned at the start, causing the Game Master to enter and fix it, disrupting immersion and indicating poor room preparation. While the room had interesting aspects, the experience was less immersive due to these issues.

Our 14th stop on our Escape Tour Germany 2024. Another Harry Potter theme room. Had its moments but overall quite familiar for us. Had an actor interacting with us at a specific moment of the experience, which was a lot of fun. Recommended
