114 escape rooms
I have mixed feelings about this room. The theming was great and some of the puzzles were fun. But there were a lot of issues with things in the room not working or not being reset and it felt like the GMs were short staffed and trying to help too many rooms at once so we wasted a lot of time waiting for a hint. There was even a riddle in giant letters on the side of the armored car that went nowhere. When we asked about it after the game, the GM said it was a clue to a puzzle no longer in the room. More wasted time. If everything had been working and we had a more responsive hint system, this would have been an excellent room.
Gameplay
This is a grudging thumbs up. So many things were not working that it made gameplay less fun and interrupted game flow.
Atmosphere
Set design, special effects and props were great. The room has a full-size armored car that you get inside.
Customer service
Again, a grudging thumbs up. The person who let us into the room and set up the game was not the the same person who ended up being our GM. We waited much too long for hints and they told us it was because they were busy helping other rooms. When we escaped, the GM didn't come to meet us right away so we weren't sure if we should just leave. When he finally came, we mentioned all the things that didn't work, the riddle leftover from a removed puzzle and the wait for hints and his attitude was just "Oh well"
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
The bank heist theme was not unique by the inclusion of a full-size armored car was pretty cool.
Story
The story was played with audio only and was hard to hear. Something about a bank heist and time travel. Not exactly sure what we were supposed to be doing.
Difficulty
Hard
Harder that it should have been due to non-working puzzles, puzzles that had not been reset and slow hints.
Game tech
Mechanical
There were a few high tech effects but most were mechanical and there were a number of locks.
Ideal number of players
6
There are a lot of things to do in this room and some need to be done at the same time. 4 is the minimum number of players but we played with 6 and it was helpful to have the extra people.
Scary
Not scary
Minimum age
16
Nothing fun for kids here.
Was anything broken?
Yes
We had one puzzle that was not reset, a letter spinner with a missing letter (broken off), a key that should have only opened one thing but instead opened a bunch of things. An audio clue that we never heard and a light panel that wasn't working. The GM got the light panel working again.
