This room was fantastic! Immersive, fun, great use of high tech puzzles. Set design was incredible, and has a fun way of receiving clues. A lot of interaction based puzzles but some logic required. We can’t wait to come back for room two!

An awesome enough room that has warranted me to write a review in order to let people know why it’s awesome. This immersive experience is quick in letting you know that the story and the role you play in the story is important to your enjoyment. However, that does not mean that the puzzles take a back seat. What I really appreciated about this place was the careful design of very naturally making you feel that you aren’t problem/puzzle solving because you paid money to be in a room for around an hour, but because you are trying to actually figure out how to save the people you’ve been set out to save as well as yourselves. That is to say, the signposting for where you need to go is so well interwoven that you always feel like you have a place to interact with within the setting to make progress. This doesn’t mean that for people who enjoy a challenge, this is just a room that lightly guides you around a playground of interactivity with no tension or difficulty. It still has a great dose of challenge and the use of technology is used smartly. You quickly start to realise the problems of the space ship you find yourself in and from that point on, you’re always kept busy tinkering with different parts of the setting to make sure that progressing at a reasonable pace. There wasn’t a point in time where it seemed frustrating as there was always something that felt as though you were being nudged in the right direction, without handing you solutions on a silver platter. The quality of the puzzles themselves if to describe in one word would be: fun. It was just so fun to have a ‘play’ in this environment that really made you feel you were in a futuristic sci-fi spaceship with problems that felt fitting to your dilemma. Without spoiling anything, it really does feel like you have to creatively think your way out of the problems that appear before you throughout your time. Overall, this is one of the best immersive experiences in Melbourne right now. It is quite new, but they have clearly taken their experience and the growth of ‘escape rooms’ into account in their design of this room to be transformative, rather than iterative of the generic puzzle solving experience that we are so used to in Australia already. Experiences like these are how from this point on how escape rooms need to evolve into.
Thank you Jack for spending time with me and my partner to talk about your experiences in designing escape rooms. It makes sense that you’ve been apart in creating the experiences that we have enjoyed over the years and we’re now excited to see more from you and the Earthrise One team!

Another experience room rather than an escape room. Cool setup with high tech puzzles.

It is a crime that Earthrise One is not one of the highest-rated Melbourne rooms on Morty. This is an escape room experience unlike any other — the tech and production value is out of this world. While not as big as Curium’s Extraction, it utilises the limited space extremely well and is incredibly immersive, which I never would have expected given the theme. Rather than solving puzzle after puzzle, you have to think like an astronaut in space and figure out actual practical solutions to problems that feel authentic and pressing. In many ways, it felt like I was in a video game. Absolutely ingenious and magical stuff. But be warned, it’s also really, really hard, and requires the kind of thinking you might not usually utilise in an escape room. Do yourself a favour and try it out. I would not be surprised to see it on TERPECA rankings soon.

This is a newly opened escape room which has a good concept and great potential. The theming and technology was impressive and interesting to experience. Unfortunately, this room disappointed because it had not been reset properly (two essential items were missing) and the last third seemed poorly developed, compared to the logical progression of the first two thirds of gameplay. This is one of the most expensive escape room we have ever done and for this price, we expected it to be of higher quality.

This isn't just an escape room but an immersive story. The set quality is on par with the likes of Curium and Ukiyo and everything including asking for help is immersive. The puzzles were fun and interactive and I level of detail put into everything was phenomenal. I'll absolutely be bring some friends back to do Earthrise One because this isn't an experience to miss. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful experience.
Super Fun
Very immersive down to even the confirmation text confirming shuttle launch time for the crew
