If you prefer escape rooms over horror experiences, I would definitely say this is not for you. My friend group and I love playing escape rooms together, so we were really excited to play ScreamWorks open house after seeing all their previous good reviews.

On arrival, you are not welcomed by anyone and have to let yourself into the building. This helped add to the creepy atmosphere but it started going down hill from here.

We wouldn't say there were a lot of puzzles to complete, which was disappointing, and there was no proper clue system. For one puzzle where they managed to give us hints through the TV, they kept on telling us to do things we already knew we had to look for, so this was a waste of time and we ran out of time for the puzzle so was skipped on. This happened a lot in the game; if you run out of time, they will skip you in to the next room. The part that bothered us the most was that at the end, when we finished the experience, we were just shoved out with a goodbye and no chance to ask questions about the puzzles we didn't solve. There were also a lot of props such as a uv torch and keys, which ended up having no use in the rooms!! The puzzles and structure of the rooms felt quite confused and you do not receive help most of the time. The only saving grace for this room is the scary atmosphere (flickering lights, noises and the occasional standing person who moves away). It did not feel like it was worth £45 per person for the 90 minute experience, especially since the customer service at the end is so lackluster that we didn't even get offered a photo at the end.

The customer service is shocking and does not deal well with criticism.
