Cryptid Grove

My Gravity Falls obsessed kids (10, 12) my husband and I did this room together and we had a BLAST. We are novices, so we did need a lot of clues - some we asked for and a few were "pushed in" when we got stuck. But really the goal for us was for our kids to have the Gravity Falls experience and relate it back to the show they know and love. This room did not disappoint! They ate it up and were making up their own theories but were also able to help solve quite a few of the clues with us. Admittedly, my husband solved the bulk of the queries while I tried my best to be the assistant and wrangle the kids. They already want to go back and "solve it faster" and I think we've struck an Escape Room chord inside each of them! Lucky for us, Herndon is local and we will definitely be returning for more fun!

Absolutely incredible! I just completed three rooms at Escape Room Herndon, and every single one was amazing. The puzzles were challenging but made perfect sense. The decorations and props were spot-on, and there were no mechanical malfunctions. The employees were outstanding. I’ve visited several escape room locations around this area, and I can confidently say that these guys are leagues ahead of the competition. Whether you’re new to escape rooms or an experienced player, I’m putting my reputation on the line when I say you’ll be thoroughly satisfied with this place. Great room with a lot of cool stuff to see!! I wanted to take souvenirs (but didn’t)!! Lots of different kinds of puzzles and puzzles that went across rooms. Do-able without clues, but still made you think!! We had people of all ability levels involved throughout, nobody was left standing around. Wish we could do more of their rooms if they are all this good!!

I really enjoyed this room. The theme was unique and the puzzles flowed very well. Our group only needed one nudge and we were able to escape with lots of time left. I would say this room is on the easy to medium side. Throughly enjoyed it!

The hardest part of the room is completing puzzles in time while constantly distracted by clever Easter eggs for the source material.

The look and feel of the room was on point. There is a lot to look at and take in from the start a little overwhelming but in a good way. The room is heavy on locks and I am not opposed to locks but they used similar combinations and sometimes we were unsure what lock to put the answer into which caused some scrambling. The puzzles are not overly complicated but we had to be nudged at times to look at things because we just didn't see or notice the puzzle connections. There are a couple of puzzles we haven't seen for an "oh wow that was fun" moment. The ending was a lot of fun!

TL:DR - an amazing room with fun puzzles and atmosphere. Inspired by gravity Falls, So if you’ve seen the show, you will get more enjoyment out of it, however, you will still love this room, even if you haven’t seen it. Yet another room that Raven Chase has knocked out of the park. We were excited to try out the new room as we have played all the other rooms at this location, and we all agreed this was either our favorite room or our second favorite room. There was a cute little story to go along, which led to a fun little ending. The atmosphere to go along with it was amazing. I feel like they could’ve added a few more fun gift store props on the floor of the main area, but other than that, it was great! I think when it comes to the puzzles, this room is their strongest. There was a lot of fun, cool, diverse clever puzzles in this one. While one or two stumped us for a little bit, we thought all puzzles were fair. This room is heavily inspired by gravity Falls, so if you’ve seen the show, you will get A LOT of added excitement out of this room, but if you haven’t seen the show, this is still a very solid room. The difficulty in this room was pretty medium, if you’re going with a group of escape room enthusiast, four people is ideal for this room. However, I will say it wouldn’t be bad to have a few more as there are a lot of puzzles to solve. I look forward to your future rooms Raven Chase! -Your number 1 fan

This room was a blast. The theme was amazing. Puzzles weren’t super challenging but did make us think a few times. Absolutely loved the experience.

I’ve loved many of the games at ERH and was excited to see them open the expanded location. Staff was awesome, very welcoming and friendly when we arrived, and appropriately attentive during the game. Interesting theme—-quirky and not our typical preference but one I haven’t seen often before,

Another excellent room from ERH! Great puzzle design, with iconography that does a good job of linking key information with the lock it solves, and a nice balance of different puzzle types. The art design of the room was particularly great, with a thick lined, cartoony look that harkens to its inspiration from Gravity Falls. There was one moment towards the end of the room where we were a bit stumped as to what puzzle was left to be solved, but otherwise the room flowed really well. Overall, highly recommend!
