Amazing room, amazing host and amazing puzzles. My partner and I will definitely come back and do the other ones sometime!

OH BABY WHAT A ROOM! Undoubtably the best escape room at Mayday and the entirety of regional Victoria, The Butcher Shop was a sheer delight from start to finish. I’ve never had so much fun repairing a cooling system in my life, maybe I’m in the wrong field. The mechanics, the tech, the puzzles, the atmosphere; all excellent, all hilarious. Chris and Tim have taken a reasonably barren space and turned it into something with so much character, I was so impressed the entire time. With their background in stage lighting and special effects, these guys know how to make rooms fun and exciting. Bravo. The cooling system is fixed btw, you’re welcome Beechworth.

We F’ed A and FO I’ll tell you that much. Another absolute banger from Mayday, the butcher shop was a true delight at every corner. Often “butcher” rooms lean more into the cannibal theme so I was pleasantly surprised when we were tasked instead with restoring the cooling system and stopping a catastrophic failure. Once again leaning heavily into the theming that the old buildings they’re housed in provide, the butcher shop was a lot of fun. With a bunch of cool special effects moments and little Easter eggs to discover my team enjoyed every bit of entertainment this room provided us. The puzzles were clear and flowed very well into each other with clear signposting and a checklist style approach to moving through our assignment. The owners Chris and Tim were absolute sweethearts and answered any and all of our many questions. Their passion for what they do is apparent in their work and vibes. With a background in stage lighting and theatrical special effects they are creating some very cool stuff in a very cool location. Hell yeah. Refreshingly unique, this was probably the best room I played out of 26 in our trip through regional Victoria. Oh and there were also 3 dogs. YIPPEE.

Set in an incredible venue with fantastic design & tech that cleverly avoids overuse of padlocks. We loved it

Pretty cool room, very different, was pretty easy, but really enjoyed it, due to how novel it was.

This was a very unique experience with lots of interactive elements. You really have to work with teammates and co-ordinate on this one to escape. Love the tech and storyline as well

A really unique escape room compared to most of the ones we have done. Not the usual lock after lock after lock, very immersive puzzles that matched the theme. Scares were appropriate for any age (nothing gruesome), but suitable for a confident 7yo+ that doesn't mind a flash or bang. Can't wait to try your other rooms!!

Seriously an awesome escape room! We went not long after it opened so we were told all of the special effects weren’t set up completely but still great!! There were still jump scares, sound effects, a smoke machine plus a little something extra that you’d have to try the room to find out (no spoilers on this page!) The puzzles were great and very immersive!
