It was amazing! All the puzzles relate and are fun with a stupidly good story behind it all. The room actually has three endings which is just amazing and I would visit again.

What an incredible room! So immersive and creative, with a great mix of hi-tech puzzles and a few traditional padlocks. There was only one puzzle we didn’t love, but despite this, The Mine was absolutely a top-tier escape room experience!

Rounding off our Riddle Room campaign was The Mine, their newest and shiniest room of the bunch and it was just as impressive as you’d expect it to be. To start off, the physical space they’ve got to play around with is huge! With 3 or 4 seperate areas all encompassing a unique function of the underground environment, it instantly creates a sense of exploration for players. I would say between all of the wonderful effects and story-driven breaks in puzzle flow, The Mine is one of, if not the most immersive experience RR have to offer. I would also say it’s the most difficult of the bunch due to the sheer quantity of puzzles there are to work through, even with an experienced crew we were pushing the 45 minute mark. However, that’s not to say each and every puzzle wasn’t fantastic in its own right because we really did have a blast in this one. A massive shoutout to our Gamemaster Nick who ran all 5 of our games for the day and to owners Chris and Jesse who were lovely and gave us a behind the scenes venue tour. The entire thing was incredible from start to finish. Much love.

The latest of the rooms at RRC and another one that is rising above in terms of quality. It has become apparent, after completing the 5 rooms here, that there is a high focus on immersion when entering the room and The Mine is perhaps the best example of that. The elevator ridden down to the mineshaft features not only as an immersive opening but also as a space to return to for multiple puzzles, a great use of a highly thematic area. The puzzles were somewhat challenging with a great sense of difference about them. Each puzzle remained on theme but felt quite different to any completed prior. The mineshaft space itself was super well designed and the storyline that moved almost around us felt super fun and engaging. A couple of eerie moments incorporated into the soundscape also enhanced the trapped underground experience. Overall we had an absolute blast completing the rooms offered at Riddle Room, special shoutout to our GM Nick who took us throughout our rooms and also the owners Chris and Jesse who chatted heaps with us and showed us some of the inner workings of their custom-built Game Master application. Some impressive stuff behind the scenes equal to the rooms they offer. Its clear that this venue values customer experience above all else, I once again implore you to check them out.

Four escapists down the Mine. Putting their lives on the line To find your friends who went spelunking. There's mysteries to be debunking! Where did they go? Follow their voices. Hear the wind blow. Beware your choices. Atmospheric. Not too dark. Cool effects that hit the mark. Recommend you spend some time. Playing down inside the Mine.

This was the second of three rooms I did with a team of four. I thought the room had some fun and unique puzzles. Lots of space to roam and some unexpected areas. Also had some pretty cool design aspects.

Completed The Mine as a group of 4. This is their newest room and it was very immersive. The set design was beautiful and it had a mix of number locks and mechanisms. There were some really interesting puzzles that I had never seen before and I really enjoyed it. There were a few moments that were a little spooky but not too scary overall. The gameplay flowed very well and everything made sense. Would recommend!

Heading back to Riddle Room to take on The Mine was a thrilling experience. This was my 42nd room overall, the 8th room in Canberra, and the last, but certainly not least, at Riddle Room. Once again, we were met with top-quality staff who were nothing short of friendly and accommodating to our team. Riddle Room uses a unique method of communication for Gamesmastering, utilizing a version of the "Voice of God" system. Responses to our questions are displayed on a monitor that also keeps track of our time. I quite liked this approach as it minimized miscommunication. However, the only drawback is that in a multi-room escape, you have to make your way back to the first room to see the monitor. That said, you can tell The Mine is one of the newer rooms around. The set design feels fresh and new, and the aesthetics are beautiful. At points, you can definitely feel like you're stuck in an abandoned mine. True to the majority of Riddle Room’s other rooms, The Mine sticks with their linear approach. While linear escape rooms usually aren't our strong suit as a team, the depth of the puzzles on offer meant that our team of four all had plenty to do while helping with the same puzzles. The puzzles were strong, made sense in the space, and there were plenty of them in what was essentially a 2-3 room escape. Luckily, we managed to scrape through with all but a second to spare. As with all the other rooms at Riddle Room, your Gamesmaster provides your team with a breakdown of your times at certain intervals, which is a nice touch I haven't seen implemented almost anywhere unless we asked. Overall, I would rate The Mine as my favorite from Riddle Room, with The Hotel following very closely behind. The team had a lot of fun, and we will be eager to return if/when any more rooms open up!
