After warping through Xenospace, the crew of Starship Astraeus find themselves stranded in a strange and unexplored region of the galaxy. You must work as a crew and use the ship’s systems to make an incredible discovery and find a path back to Earth. But time is not on your side. A solar flare is heating up and the ship won’t hold together for long. In order to survive, do you dare trust a former foe? Make multiple choices that lead to multiple endings in this sci-fi adventure that follows “Secret Aboard Starship Astraeus” but can also be played without prior experience.

My opinion is that this game had too much complexity and too many points to get plugged down, especially with a group of unknown players like at a convention. The premise was good, but some parts really felt grindy. There were also quite a few mechanical problems. Maybe with my regular group I would've enjoyed it, but as it was, I wish I had passed.

At its core, this had a lot of heart. We enjoyed the tech and the puzzles. That said, it is in a ballroom with pipe and drape curtains with everything on tables, and you’re playing with strangers. (Though one of our strangers loved a particular type of logic puzzle that I don’t like and was in the room, so I appreciated that!) I think if you took this same game and built a set around it, it would be above average

Rating: 2.5/5 I played this room at a gaming convention (Gen Con). I appreciate the effort to make this room high tech but the execution could be better. The experience was a bit rough, the game master was in the play area with us and was setting up for future interactions or fixing issues while we're playing which is awkward. The immersion is low since this is a pop-up set up in a temporary space, most of the puzzles and props were just placed on top of tables. However, I did like some of the puzzles and was glad that there were little to no keys or locks. There was a lot of tech used throughout the game which is cool, but it definitely felt like a lot of the props and tech were created by someone just tinkering around in their basement, it didn't feel very high quality or professional and some of it wasn't working correctly and needed GM intervention. Also, due to the nature of playing it at a convention, I ended up playing with 9 other people so it was way too crowded and not enough for everyone to do, I wish they limited it to 6-8.
