Sweet Shoppe was my second room at Twisted and it was definitely a fun experience! This was my partner’s first room and he had a blast. The rest of our group was 3 experienced escape room enthusiasts. The room is a 2-room experience (not exactly a spoiler as our GM told us at the beginning). There was a mix of electronic triggers and locks, although there were definitely more locks. I considered there to be one red herring item that had us a bit confused, but it wasn’t a puzzle that went nowhere. Just an item we kept coming back to that was useless. The puzzles in the room were pretty fun - some of the stuff was silly and some were brain teasers which I found fun! We had two issues in the room - one of the clues had one of the pieces come unglued so we had the incorrect code and one of the items we had to use was kind of finicky. Overall, we had a good time, which I consider all that matters for a room to get a like. My partner and I are already considering going to some of the other rooms at Twisted!

Everyone at this location is so nice, but the GM could have spoken up more. There was one tricky item that needed to be reset. Me and my partner discussed how it wasn’t working for a bit and it wasn’t until much later when all of our group of 4 was spinning our wheels and asked for a clue that she helped us by telling us how to reset.

This is clearly meant for a family and I would think kind of kid friendly with all the candy elements.

Was anything broken?

Yes

One of the puzzles had one of the items missing that made our lock code wrong. One of the pieces of equipment also needed to be reset (but I think it may be part of what the item is since it’s kind of old timey).

Color Blindness might be a bit difficult as there were a couple things that relied on colors.

Rating: 3/5 Average at best, but still charming and fun and more than a single room. Everything was just decent, nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. It was a mix of padlocks and electronic triggers. The theming was cute but not the highest quality and it's clearly meant for families though my team of 4 adults still enjoyed it well enough. This room is doable as a team of 2 enthusiasts. Update: My rough ranking of Twisted's rooms starting with my favorite: 1. White Rabbit - Rating: 3/5 2. Submarine - 3/5 3. Cabin - 3/5 4. Sweet Shoppe - 3/5 5. Collection - 3/5 6. Missing Maestro - 2.5/5 7. Christmas Caper - 2.5/5

Very cute and charming room! It is definitely more geared towards families, both in the sense that it’s very innocent. But also some of the puzzles require a lot of searching through candy jars, which kids maybe more. In my opinion, the first half was a smooth if not breezy experience. The second half became a mess though - hard to tell what you were activating, actual red herrings, and very tough to figure out which puzzle went with what clues. It felt overwhelming at points. Some puzzles were admittedly very clever, and I overall had a good time still. I loved the hidden poker chips that, when found, allow you to spin a wheel after the game for prizes. It was icing on the sundae!

Had trouble with buttons on a certain device getting stuck. GM had to come over and apply force to it to reset it.

Set was okay for a small town escape room. There were some neat and tricky puzzles, at least one that needed a leap in logic, and a couple of red herrings. it was mostly locks with a little tech. The game itself was okay. Family friendly.
