It is an unusual format, max 20 minutes in each room for 4 rooms. Each room has 4 unrelated puzzles to complete, for which you get a card for each one you complete. The cards themselves are pretty meaningless. The puzzles vary from tactile and using your senses, to frustrating button-pushing tasks. Some were fun while others were frustrating. The set was nice, but few things to move around, a lot of walking up to a prop, and solving the puzzle via buttons or a screen. Between one of the rooms, you literally step into the hallway of the business, which is SUPER immersion-breaking. We even saw a different group leaving their game, which is just awkward. Some puzzles were annoyingly low to the floor; for example, in one entire puzzle, you had to press buttons at ankle height. I am not sure why they were not higher; even for children, they would be low. We found ourselves sitting on the floor on multiple occasions. The hint system was suspect... They gave you a book of hints (via a journal); that was it. You could ask the GM for more, but the book was the primary means. Not a fan, seems like a way for them to reduce staff running the games, honestly. Overall, it is worth a shot with 4 players, especially as it is priced fairly well in the Seattle market, but set your expectations as something pretty different and frustrating at times.

Stairs required to enter the facility (watch for the massive, unprotected 5-foot drop-off as you walk in!). Color puzzle(s) present. Scent puzzle(s) present. Audio puzzle(s) present. Some buttons are very low. Physical puzzle at the end that would not be possible with those with mobility issues (wheelchairs, crutches, etc.)

I came in with extended family, and The 4th Door really stood out in the best way. It doesn’t follow the usual escape room format, which made it feel fresh and exciting from the start. It’s non-linear, which was perfect for our bigger group and gave everyone something to do. The set design is very immersive, and the production quality is some of the best I’ve seen. Our Game Master was great and clearly cared about our experience. Definitely recommend!

the game was alright, i didn’t like that you got pulled out of the rooms/atmosphere every room where you go into the lobby, and one of the puzzles was super confusing and didn’t make sense until the last moment when we had three people working on it, only reason we didn’t get it done is cause the time went out and we were almost done with it. wish it was more going into hidden tunnels to the other rooms like i thought. don’t go if you want to be in an immersive room, hug disappointment

This escape room stood out for its unique structure, splitting the adventure into four mini-rooms, each with its own distinct theme and vibe. The timed nature—20 minutes per room to solve four puzzles—added a layer of excitement and urgency you don’t often get. Even if you didn’t solve everything, you moved on, which kept the energy up and made each transition feel fresh and challenging. The clever twist of tying all rooms together through a story that reveals itself as you go was really fun, and getting to submit the completed puzzles for a final score in the last room made it feel rewarding even if you didn’t master every challenge. It’s a creative twist on the traditional escape room format, and we loved every minute of it.

I had an awesome experience at The 4th Door! The setup really stands out compared to other escape rooms I've tried, and the attention to detail in the thematic decor is incredible. You progress through four distinct rooms as you solve the puzzles, which really adds to the sense of accomplishment as you advance. The puzzles are challenging but not overwhelming, and they can be tackled simultaneously if you decide to split up.

Puzzles are pretty straightforward, some require a bit of out of the box thinking. Overall not super challenging other than the timing on a few of the puzzles. Some puzzles require teamwork which is nice. For my group some of the puzzles were frustratingly straightforward and took little to no time to solve, only time to execute the mechanics.

Good: Good lighting, really nice sets, some interesting mechanics that stepped beyond just electronic puzzles. Good variety of puzzles. Good hint mechanic. Mixed: interesting story idea, but not progressed much throughout the experience, and puzzles didn't connect to the story. End of escape room had a bit more plot though. Bad: some puzzles were easy to understand but hard to physically do because the electronics were very precise. Fewer puzzles that involves the room at large.
