103 escape rooms
We were making Waves and going down Deep! Are you ready to be Submerged? This escape room was very engaging and a lot of fun. There were a variety of nonlinear puzzles which were very unique and creative. The puzzles themselves made sense and flowed very smoothly with one another. We played with a team of 6 which was a good amount. I would recommend a minimum of 4 players because there were a multitude of puzzles and sometimes it does require multiple Thinkers and minds to complete a puzzle, but enough for all of us to engage in the gameplay equally. Overall, The Depths was creative, interactive, and engaging. We had a mixture of Beginner-Intermediate Skilled Players, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling, immersion, and gameplay.
Gameplay
The gameplay was a lot of fun! Such a variety of nonlinear puzzles that were very smooth, engaging, and creative. Everything made sense and there weren’t any red herrings. Everyone on the team played a part and were able to accomplish a variety of puzzles together and independently.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere was immersive, especially at the end. The background music made you feel that you were in a submarine, and I enjoyed the visual cues and puzzles that went well with the theme.
Customer service
Our GM was attentive to our needs and shared hints that were appropriate in the moment. Their hint system could have been more direct though because we were stuck on one puzzle for a while, and it felt we could have been given more direct feedback in the completion of that puzzle.
Story
The storyline was simple yet engaging. I enjoyed how the puzzles were well themed to The Depths and how the story was carried throughout through visual puzzles, atmosphere, and puzzle completion.
