The vibe of Red Vein is felt the minute you walk in the door. Our gamemaster stayed in character and added to the experience. Very creepy, but so much fun! We were a group of 3 and escaped with about 15 minutes to spare, however, we had no shame in asking for hints. The theme was great and the room decor was wonderful.
Gameplay
Gameplay was fun and it seemed to flow well. We broke our cardinal rule of "looking around" before we start solving puzzles, so we missed a few things and has to ask for hints. But that was just our excitement and no reflection on the room.
Atmosphere
The room was dark but we were given lots of flashlights. The set was immersive and unexpected in several areas. We ran into things we had never seen before, which was very cool.
Customer service
The gamemaster, owner?, manager?, employee? was great. She added to the experience but was not in the way. We will definitely go back for the other room.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
There were some puzzles we hadn't seen before.
It's hard to read some of the text without a flashlight, but it was intentional and fit the vibe. If you need reading glasses, bring them.
Game tech
A little bit of everything.
We were a group of 3. 4 would be ideal since it's non-linear.
No so much kid friendly, but I would think anyone over 12-13 would enjoy it.
In the facility, but not in the room. The gamemaster was dressed according to the room. Very well done.
Physically active
Somewhat
No spoilers here, but you don't stay in one place the whole time. Lots of moving, squatting, stretching, etc. Loved it!
Accessibility
It's dark so you will need flashlights and if you need reading glasses, you will need to have them. There are some things you need to listen to, and it's not overly loud so take that into consideration. There really isn't anywhere to sit, so it's a lot of standing and moving around. Some stretching, stepping, and squatting.
Easy parking behind the building.
