Well layed out game with some interesting puzzles. A lot of padlocks and some broken props that need some love or replacing. Game host was great and attentive all the way through the game.
Interesting puzzles but some felt like fillers to make up the hours game time.
Nice decoration. Dark in some spaces with only one torch supplied for the group.
Great enthusiastic host who gave their full attention.

We came here today to do cursed carnival at 11.30. On arrival we were told due to technical difficulties the room was unavailable. We understand these things happen but someone should have called ahead to let us know. we decided to stay and do room 13. The smell in both the reception and room was pungent. Like a stale sweat smell. Some of the clues made no sense and had no flow. We were stuck in the first room for ages as the key for the door didnโt work. The game host kept coming into the room and wandering around and having chats with us. Ruined the atmosphere. Why not have a screen for clues? Or a hatch. But dont come in the room. Once weโd completed the room we had no idea we had done it, as thereโs nothing to show youโve escaped. We were just stood there like what now have we done it? Weโd booked to do captain black hearts curse and return at 1pm. At 1.10 after waiting for 10 mins and no one coming to us we went to try and find someone. We asked at the bar and they said theyโd find some staff. 1.20 still no sign so again back to the bar and they explained houdinis is separate to ten pin and tried to find us someone. A guy then finally came into the room and we explained that we were a bit upset how the room weโd booked wasnโt available and no one had called us in advance and then now itโs 25 mins late for the second room and weโd just been sat there. He wasnโt interested and it was like we were an inconvenience. We were basically told do the second room or donโt and get a refund. At no point were we apologised to. We have done titanic at Cheshire oaks & Alcatraz in Crewe. Both of these rooms and the staff in these places were fab so we were excited to try Chester. After a poor experience here I would be Reluctant to use houdinis again and definitely wonโt return to Chester. I have done over 50 escape rooms all over the uk and this by far is the worst experience. Iโd rate the room 2/5 but it gets a 1 for the attitude of the staff member and the lateness.
