Pretty good. Great set design and interesting puzzles. Sadly the storytelling was a bit convoluted and the gameplay didnt justify the ultimate twist (which was also difficult to grasp because of problematic audio).

Wow, Escaparium is really setting new bars for escape rooms! The set is fantastic and impeccable, and I was constantly thinking to myself "what, they did *what*?" for pretty much the entire experience. The game is a visual treat, and the set designer should be proud. Puzzles were mostly good and thematic, though there were a few that didn't land quite right for us. There were also some audio issues: the minor one was a language/accent one (presumably French Canadian speaker vs costal American ears), where we couldn't quite understand what the speaker was saying, but a larger and more recurring one was simply that audio was muddled or coming from a misleading location. This isn't unique to this game - given the space, I'd half expect it, and a number of Escaparium's other large games have similar problems. Unfortunately, the end of the game suffered from both (IMHO) a questionable puzzle and muddy audio, leading to a finale that let down rather than went out with a bang. Despite the flaws, I was still wowed by The Family. It's a promising start to this location, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with next.

The GM was so good! Even though it was only pre-game interactions, his memorable character helped set the tone for the experience we were about to enjoy. The staff also took time afterwards to talk about the game, the space, and even gave us sneak peeks at some upcoming stuff - I'm excited to see what they build!

We are happy that you enjoyed our game and appreciate your feedback – team from Montreal and Laval provided precious support as consultants, but indeed everyone including our team at Escaparium is pushing immersion and creativity forward. Please contact us directly if you want to follow up with anything specific. We have investigated the issue that you've experienced, which became obvious near the end of the game, and so we adjusted audio compensation on one of our channels. In terms of clarity, most of our speakers are hidden and crack-shaped openings were done to preserve clarity in a subtle way, so we enlarged some of the existing openings in an attempt to improve quality and keep realism in mind. I think the volume is in the sweet spot preserving the immersion while also allowing players to hear themselves. You are right about a second language not sounding 100% natural. In all fairness, considering we already rejected good acting performers because of inadequate bilingual skills, I fear that less tolerance could fall into oppression to the French community as we do not consider cultural difference to be a flaw. We do our best to find the most talented people and we are confident to meet our travelers expectations while also respecting our laws in terms of language protection.

Update: La Famille has entertaining puzzles and a nice set design. When we went to La Famille, there appears to have been technical difficulties, which impacted the delivery of the story. Mr. Thierry Lacombe courteously reached out to me. I appreciate that he cares to check in with his customers and is receptive to feedback. I imagine if the audio and video were working, the experience would have been far better. I’m glad they are ensuring this works in the future.

We are aware of a problem following a power surge that apparently caused damage on more equipment than we thought. The game is expected to be fully restored this week, including all self-explanatory audios. We also purchased more UPS batteries to prevent this from happening in the future. Hopefully the story was explained by your GM at the end?

Super expérience! Il y a une bonne dose d'horreur! L'histoire est vraiment bonne et très profonde! Selon l'animatrice nous avons battus le record actuel de 6 minutes! L'ancien record était de 49m, et nous avons fait 43m! Le seul problème c'est qu'une musique avec des paroles a buggé et a tourné en boucle et a rendu la suite de l'expérience plus difficile au niveau "écoute"

Merci de votre visite. Nous avons eu une panne de courant qui a causé quelques anomalies vendredi. Le jeu semble avoir bien fonctionné malgré tout (grâce aux "failsafes" pour protéger l'expérience). Nous avons repassé le log du jeu et la vitesse à laquelle vous êtes passé à travers est sans précédent. Des machines! Moins de 1 groupe sur 10 finit le jeu en bas d'une heure. Si tout beigne côté GM nous allons valider votre temps. Personne dans le groupe avait déjà fait le jeu avant?
