234 escape rooms
Rating: 2/5 - Probably their lowest budget set with poor puzzle design Here's what I disliked: -Low effort, boring set, which is especially disappointing considering how great other sets are from this company. For example, Dark Wyvern, Grand Elven, Castle are all significantly better looking. -Majority of props and furniture could literally be purchased from Home Depot, only a couple things were custom built. -Some puzzles felt completely random and didn't fit the theme. -A item was hidden in a place that's not visible and you wouldn't think to feel for it there. -One puzzle had items that could be removed/separated easily. If you do so and don't remember how they were originally arranged, the puzzle is impossible to solve and the GM will need to help you. There is no warning telling you not to separate them and I have no idea why they didn't just glue or tape them together. -Story/narrative/goal is convoluted. -The direction to move some items were not obvious to most people in my group, you may need some specific knowledge or get info from the GM. This could've been easily remedied by some labels. -Most puzzles just felt tedious, annoying, or unintuitive. Puzzle design feels like 2015 era rooms even though this room was designed in 2024. -Room is difficult and we constantly felt stuck. The ending was disappointing even though we achieved the minimum to "win" the room. The only good things: *Not all padlocks, some maglocks and tech. *More than a single room to explore. *The GM was friendly and helpful when needed.
