Very fun well themed room. Some of the puzzles were a bit confusing but nothing you can't figure out without a little help. Would reccomend!

This room flowed well and had good theming/atmosphere—but the puzzles were way too easy and there were too few puzzles. We got out in less than 20 minutes as a team of 3 enthusiasts who didn’t even try to rush through the room. Because there’s nothing “wrong” with the room and all the tech worked just fine, I don’t feel this room warrants a 👎, but it also doesn’t warrant a 👍 since it was so light on puzzles that we finished in less than 20 minutes. To be honest, we didn’t originally plan to do this room, but Scooby-Doo was broken and we decided to do this room as a time-filler. Even so, we didn’t expect to get out this quickly.

This review is to warn enthusiasts and experienced escape room players that this room is so easy that I can’t imagine it would take you more than 30 minutes to escape (we did in less than 20 while trying to go slowly on purpose), so only do it if you have a good discount or try any of the other rooms. It’s a solid room for newbies with great puzzle flow and fun moments so it is not at all a bad room, just not challenging enough for the money if you have experience and they have other great rooms at this location to enjoy instead.

I really enjoyed this escape room! This was my 33rd room (28W - 5L) and I played with two adults with similar statistics but I still consider myself a bit of a newbie. This was our second game played at Escapology Carlsbad and we had so much fun that we booked five more rooms this week. The props and puzzles were in top condition and very well designed. They contributed to the flow of the story and made the experience really enjoyable. I don't think we asked for any clues and we finished with 19:27 remaining so I would say this room is medium difficulty (one of our players is very smart so she quickly saw solutions that might have taken another player a little longer to puzzle out). I think this would be a fun game for families with kids.
Gameplay
I really liked the theme and the room was beautifully decorated. Everything was is great condition and the story flowed very well.
Atmosphere
The set was beautifully designed making the experience very immersive.
Customer service
The people at Escapology Carlsbad are amazing. They are probably the most friendly and accommodating staff. We are eager to try their other rooms this week!

I really liked the Lost City theme. This would be a great room for families.

The theme of the room was integrated throughout. It was an adventurous treasure hunt which would appeal to families with tweens and teens.

Game tech
High tech
The room was a mixture of tech and mechanical. I prefer mechanical rooms / puzzles but this room was definitely enjoyable.

Our group of three adults was perfect for us.

This would be a great room for families.

Escapology might have a kid's version of the game (I'm not sure...), but the adult version would be suitable for families with tweens and teens.

Somewhat
There is lots of walking / rushing around, but nothing overly energetic.

There was lots of parking in the mall.

A solid escape room. Beautiful production design as always from Escapeology. I would say it’s more on the beginner side… I recommend doing this with two or three people, but no more… we did it with four and I feel like we got out pretty easy.

Fun and well designed room. Like I mentioned on my review for The Pirate roll, this too was a quite easy adventure for avid escapists. I recommending doing these two back to back to get that typical full 1hr experience.
Gameplay
Only one puzzle that left us scratching our heads even after solving it. The rest flowed really well. Room was linear.
Atmosphere
Good lighting and ambiance.

Inside the mall. Parking is critical! We parked what ended up being pretty far away and if your game is after the mall closes, you are forced to walk outside in a pretty desolate area with poor lighting.
