Step into the aftermath of devastation in our gripping Post-Apocalyptic themed escape room. Set within the claustrophobic confines of a nuclear fallout bunker, you are amid a high-stakes race against time, where resources are dwindling, and starvation is imminent. As echoes of the world above grow faint, the fallout bunker has served as your sanctuary - a cocoon shielding you from the nuclear desolation outside. But with food and supplies running scarce, the bunker that once seemed like your savior now threatens to become your tomb. You and your team must strain every sinew of your survival instincts, muster your wit, and unlock the mysteries that lie under the thick coat of dust and despair in the bunker. As the seemingly insurmountable tension mounts and minutes tick away, you'll need to scrape together every shred of courage and cunning you possess. Whether you emerge into the light of day again will depend on your ability to work together and make tough, timely decisions. Do you have what it takes to survive the fallout, escape the bunker, and live to face the new world? The challenge awaits - gather your team, steel your nerves, and step into the heart of the apocalypse. The clock is ticking, and only the hardiest will make it out alive.

The first puzzle contains a Magic Eye style solution, which may not be solvable by all groups. Beyond that, it is a fun room and a nice night out.

Gameplay

Not particularly unique, but the room flowed well and was an enjoyable evening.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere did not particularly fit with the theme.

Customer service

Great staff!

Particularly interesting or different

No

Nothing particularly unique about this room.

Story

Story did not incorporate into the actual game play.

Difficulty

Hard

I don’t feel like it was Hard for the right reasons though. First puzzle was a magic eye puzzle which is not a skill all players will have. A bit too many red herrings for my taste as well.

Ideal number of players

We played with two and could have used one or two more people for additional perspectives. More than four would be too many in that space.

Accessibility

First puzzle is unsolvable for people with vision impairment issues and moving under an object would be a challenge for many mobility issues.

Parking

Medium

Street parking in a busy area. Not hard to find a spot, but arrive early to give yourself time to circle the block once or twice.

I really enjoyed this room. I would recommend reading the description, immersing yourself in that world and enjoying the dialogue because once I was in that room it helped to think that way. While everyone else was more about like oh it’s just clue after clue I was more like what secrets does this room hold? I would say this room does really well for having to use every inch of it that once we got stuck it would help to just regroup and focus on a part of the room we may have missed.

This room is a great example of a Gen 1 room but the amount of locks and keys was not overbearing. The set design was simple. Not immersive like a lot of the newer rooms coming out these days. There’s a lot of elements that will be familiar to enthusiasts. Not having much context with some of the clues made it a bit tricky but not impossible. Beware of the red herrings! I definitely caught a little brain burn from those! The size of the room is alright but four would be the best. Our group had fun but we all agreed that the pricing is a bit steep for this type of room. If it was a Gen 3 room and more immersive then the pricing would be reasonable.

Gameplay

A bit of linear and non-linear. There’s not a lot of context with the puzzles so you may find this challenging.

Atmosphere

The description of the room online was giving Fallout so of course my mind was stuck on that. I was a bit confused when I saw the room for the first time.

Customer service

The whole staff was kind and welcoming

Located in the beautiful Uptown Whittier with plenty of food/drink options nearby. Outpost is a hybrid/nonlinear gen 2 room set in a nuclear fallout bunker. Very fun for beginners and enthusiasts alike!
