38 escape rooms
Overall, I would give this game a 3/10. The story was only okay, the build quality was mid. And I genuinely can’t remember the story a week later. If they fix some of the broken issues I’m sure I would move the score up to a 5/10 but even still it’s not that great.
Gameplay
The gameplay was good. But it had so many red herrings it was almost annoying.
Atmosphere
There were three separate locks/doors that were broken and not working and the response when we asked for a hint and told them we did what they said was “Oh that’s weird. It should work?” Three separate times… Also they have animatronics that are the most annoying thing they could have bought at spirit Halloween.
Customer service
The staff were incredibly kind, and they genuinely seemed to be happy every time somebody walked in the door.
Particularly interesting or different
No
The overall gameplay was relatively bland and generic, but I acknowledge it’s a small town escape room.
Story
Honestly, I played less than a week ago and I forgot the actual story. If there even was one?
Difficulty
Medium
The difficulty level on the website is definitely higher than it actually is. We spent 15 minutes trying to figure out broken locks. So I’m mad our time wasn’t lower solely because the facility didn’t maintain their stuff.
Game tech
Mechanical
Out of the two options, I would definitely say mechanical, but even then I’m not sure I would put it in that category. A lot of the stuff just seemed like it was bought on Amazon or spirit Halloween. But it was definitely better than some of the low budget builds I’ve seen.
Ideal number of players
4
Definitely at least three.
Scary
Not scary
Though it did have a horror theme, I imagine the only people that it will scare is young children. If that.
Minimum age
8
Like I said, it is horror themed, but it’s genuinely not scary.
Was anything broken?
Yes
There was a directional lock that wouldn’t work until the 20th+ try. A hatch that the person had to tell us over the walkie-talkie “can you push up on that hatch?” And the final door wouldn’t work.
Live actors
No
Physically active
Somewhat
There is some manual labor involved. And you start the game off with limited movement.
Accessibility
The entire surface is flat, there aren’t any hearing tasks, and overall I would say it’s pretty impairment, friendly.
Easy to find location
Yes
The town Square is pretty small and it’s pretty obvious where it is
Parking
Medium
Depending on the time of day you come, it could be packed. But for the most part, it’s not too bad unless it’s a weekend. There is a parking lot on the other side of the Square but even that is kind of small.
