One of my favorite Illinois rooms! Love the storyline, atmosphere, and challenging puzzles. Lots of unique moments. A must play! The low lighting in one section did frustrate, alongside a few less intuitive moments coinciding with the low lighting, but it didnβt overshadow the absolute fun of the rest of the game. Donβt play with more than 4. They say 6 can fit in here but it would be incredibly tight.

One small part needed a shake to fix it. But the GM was quick to let us know

Super low lighting at some parts, to the point of my own frustration. Does not require any climbing or crawling, likely right for a wheelchair but accessible. The mall itself is accessible too with elevators. There is a lot of audio mostly intended for story purposes that is difficult to understand at times, there are no captions.

High quality room with a fun theme. Both of our group had memories of the old rental stores, so that helped. A few puzzles didn't feel quite as "puzzly" as other rooms we've done, so it felt a little bland, but overall I'd recommend.
Probably the best flow I've encountered in ~15 rooms. Mostly linear.

On the lower side of medium.
I don't know the background tech, but yes lighting and sounds.

2 was fine. I think it would get overcrowded with more than 4.
Not scary
Not scary to an adult, but kids could probably get scared.

Hearing is required for one puzzle and some instructions. Some puzzles are hard to see in the dark and spaces are somewhat cramped.

Sort of between floors in Woodfield Mall near PF Chang's. The email gave instructions.

Another smooth and polished game, just a tad less than Arctic Expedition for me. Gameplay is very linear, and it felt the shortest of all the games at 60 to Escape Schaumburg, but it's quite fun. There are Easter eggs from some of 60 to Escape's other games at other locations, but it's not at all necessary to enjoy Lockbuster. The set is spot on for what they're trying to evoke, and the set takes some unexpected but neat turns as the game progresses. Puzzles are fine but on the simpler side - play this game for the set, not the puzzles. I found myself wishing the game was a little longer, and thought there was a hole in the plot that never got satisfyingly explained - Rule of Cool, I guess. Don't think about it too hard and enjoy the ride. Personally, these issues bumped it down from a love to a like.

3 enthusiasts were fine, but since the game is so linear, 2 would be better. Could probably be reasonably soloed.

Very unique concept met brilliant execution. A solid game play and sleek environment make this a standout, and fun settings tie everything together. My favorite at 60 to Escape Schaumburg.

Rating: 4.5/5 - Currently the top ranked room in Chicago area, and I get why since they do some unique things Pros: β Awesome animatronic character with an interesting personality β Lots of funny moments β Super nostalgic β Lots of easter eggs for their other games β Great looking, high quality set with good audio/lighting effects β Multiple rooms to explore with a cool transition between areas β Tons of tech with only 1 padlock β Decent puzzle variety with many tactile interactions β Very linear which I like, especially for smaller groups β Friendly and helpful GM Could be better: β A couple puzzles that we had issues with but other groups may not have the same trouble. They were not broken, they just weren't intuitive for our team. It's very playable with two players, I'd recommend 2-3 because there are some smaller spaces. My team of 2 finished with more than 10 min left, it is on the easier side. UPDATE: My ranking of 60 to Escape rooms (all locations) so far starting with my favorite. 1. Lockbuster Video β€οΈ 2. Cheesie's Pizza Party β€οΈ 3. Invasion β€οΈ 4. Mystery Manor β€οΈ 5. Hidden Temple β€οΈ 6. Blast From The Past π 7. Jurassic Outpost π 8. Arctic Expedition π 9. Magic Heist π

Typical mall parking, but if your game ends after the mall closes, you will need to park by the Texas De Brazil (per their email)

Great atmosphere and immersion. Fun concept. Amazing execution. Thereβs a room reveal that left us stunned (we didnβt see it coming). This is a game that has its tongue cleverly planted in its cheek, and itβs created with enough care and intention that youβre continually delighted. I canβt decide if this game, or Cheesieβs, is my favorite. By the way, we played with 2 and didnβt have any problem finishing the room.

I definitely liked the nostalgia factor. Would recommend.
Nostalgia for sure. Interesting room multi-room dynamic and an animatronic host. Good times.
Loved the throw back and million dollar late fees.
Staff was great. No complaints.

I wouldnβt say any of their rooms had that big βwowβ event or puzzle, but they are all very solid, well done rooms. Each had a great overall experience. They do have lots of animatronics that are pretty cool in their rooms.
The plot was memorable if only for the nostalgia factor of the ridiculous video store late fees way back when.
Medium
Not too difficult.
High tech
Some mechanical stuff, a couple locks, but mostly tech Iβd say.

I think smaller groups are better for this one.
