114 escape rooms
This room has an interesting concept that is poorly executed. The room has very minimal theming and props, little atmosphere and everything is in need of some TLC and a refresh. It is not a linear game and very little about the game play is intuitive so it is frequently not evident what you should be doing next or doing at all. You are limited to 5 hints which is normally way more than we need in a good room. Five didn't begin to scratch the surface of how many hints might be needed to successfully complete this room. We have played and escaped from more than 80 rooms and when time expired here we still had 4 unopened locks. The room is 100% old school locks. Each puzzle solved gives you a lock code. There is nothing high-tech here and zero special effects. If you want to experience a top-notch brain-themed escape room, play Dream at Escape Artists in Baldwin Park.
Gameplay
The gameplay was not linear or intuitive. There was no flow and it was often confusing.
Atmosphere
Very little in the way of theming or props. No special effects or atmosphere. Most props and set pieces were in sad shape.
Customer service
Staff was nice.
Particularly interesting or different
No
Story
Something about two side of the brain. Story was not carried through in theming or set design.
Difficulty
Hard
Hard because some puzzles were needless timesinks that used up a lot of time just to get a lock code. Some were hard because pieces or props were in poor condition. There was also no flow to gameplay which made it challenging to know what to do next.
