Saturday night and you have a date with your friend Hilda for beers at your favorite pub in Verste.  It's 3:00 a.m. and Hilda isn't answering the phones.  So you are forced to go by her house to see what is going on.  A ticking of an old clock is heard as you approach.. what has happened?

Escape room

Our favourite room to date. I am normally the less scared of our team of 2 but this one got me good it was brilliant. Somehow my girlfriend who is normally the scared one had a burst of bravery (perhaps inspired by my lack of) and between us we did all of the rooms together about a 50:50 split on the puzzles. 

This is not a race against a clock room. In fact I have no idea how long we took. They don't even say, so competitive escapers take a chill pill and just enjoy the drama. The whole room follows a storyline and is really well made, theatrical and memorable. 

The actors debriefed us afterwards to explain the scenes and stories we had seen to make sure we followed along and this nice touch at the end really made the experience go from a great escape and drama show, to a top notch escaping experience. 

Not typically included on the "must play" list of rooms in Athens, but I think this one is a hidden gem that gets overlooked against other rooms that may have been around longer and collected more rooms. If we were eligible to vote on TERPECA (100 escapes required for eligibility and we only have 30-40 across 4 countries) this room would have been our pick for the year. 

SMALL SPOILER WARNING:
Do note that the room starts the second you enter the front door. There is no introduction or explanation, you get thrown straight in. I would not recommend the room to first time escapers for this reason but if you have done a few others then you will understand the general gist and be able to get stuck in just fine.

Strongest story telling experience that we have experienced in Athens and really unexpected ending. This felt very much like we were living a horror movie!

the staff is fantastic!! They worked with us to get a booking, which we thoroughly appreciated. In addition, they were very polite in person & passionate about what they do.

Occasionally, storytelling occurred via speakers as we were in darkness instead of providing extra passages for us to read. I think this is a good idea as only part of the group notices passages, & can miss some of the story. providing the passages overhead gives an opportunity for everyone to hear the story.

One of the best in Athens

The strength of the game was in the acting. The puzzles made sense and the story flowed nicely.

This is one of the newest escape rooms in Athens, and after doing 25 games in the city it was nice to do a horror room where a woman isn’t brutally murdered & tortured by a man. That alone made the storyline feel fresh.  The best part of this room was probably the actors—the main scare actor moved in a way that was significantly creepy. This room also provided one of my absolutely favorite scenes from the entire trip. It was so creatively framed & still sticks out in my mind. Big thanks to the team at Insanity for working with us to get this room booked!

My favorite game in Athens. Very intense, fast paced, intense scares, great acting, very cinematic, great story which felt grounded, i love love loved it!

Another highlight room in Athens with a fresh feel, amazing timing and a well written any executed story. An absolut must play!
