Two years in the making, Danse Macabre boasts a unique ride system by Intamin where guests will sit on one of six choir stalls on top of turntables that spin, rise, tilt, and fall to the classic "Danse Macabre" by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. For the first time, Danse Macabre's chapel doors are ajar and the secrets inside are revealed. With great caution, the six choir seats of the spectacular ride system are brought into the chapel. Here, 108 mortals each take their seats to suffer their fate together, dancing to the music of the Danse Macabre. Efteling's newest attraction absolutely knocks it out of the park. If we had the time, I'd have experienced this 2-3x more in a row — there's so much exquisite detail to take in. As a violinist, I have a special connection to Danse Macabre and loved how this world brought the music to life.
